  • No Digital Tuner-CORRECTED
UPDATE:Immediately after I posted a 1-star rating I was contacted by Anne at Ideal Choice Products and offered a solution to my issue, I accepted, as the ukulele itself is well made and a quality choice for the price sold. Our friend is a guitar collector and he was impressed with the quality and sound (once tuned) and thought it perfect for our 5 yo granddaughter. I will look for other products from this company because of the stellar customer service provided. 5-stars!!!No digital tuner included. That was the reason I was willing to pay $12 over other brands with similar rating. How do I rectify?
  • Low cost. Real uke like professional
Fabulous uke. Own the purple-gave as gift
  • Digital Tuner Not Included As Advertised
The item is great, but the digital tuner was not included as advertised. I went online to get support, but my only option was to return or replace the entire item. I just want the digital tuner.
  • Would buy again.
    Well made. Good sound.
  • The ukelele instrument needs tuning quite a lot,
especially when the strings are new- this is normal. But it’s normal to need fine tuning between songs too.The tuner clips at the end of the headstock, over the face/hat logo. Comes with 2032 battery and works well. Top string is G, second string middle C, third string up to E, bottom string up to A.I did notice some of the ‘teaching videos’ on the internet are a bit ‘off’ so if you’re not a musician- search around for something others recommend! And for ‘basic soprano ukelele chord chart’ and ‘tuning a soprano ukelele’.I’m really enjoying learning it, it’s a fun instrument. This is a good basic product for learning on.
  • Cheaply made. Don’t waste your money!
The product was poorly made. The top fret was not flat against the top of the neck so the ukulele would not tune properly. So disappointed since this ukulele was for my granddaughter. Not useable. Waited too long to return since we were out of town for several weeks.
  • Great product
Bought this for my 3 year old for Christmas and she loved it!! So cute! She loved the color. Good quality product for the price. We couldn’t figure out how to use the strap though.
  • Kid approved
Great quality. Love the case. Great for beginners.

  • Love it
This is the cutest! The color is so pretty! It’s good quality too and lasts really well even when kids play with it. It’s a good price!
  • Mi hijo se adaptó
    Muy bonita
  • Pretty normal ukulele
I don’t have much experience with ukuleles so I’m mostly clueless but hey, it plays well!
  • Par for the Course
This ukulele came in a good sturdy box with an outer Amazon box, which if I recall correctly, was not selected by default – meaning that at the check out process, you’ll need to manually select the option for them to put it in an outer Amazon box, so that the product box won’t be damaged during shipment and so that the ukulele will be well padded and protected during the shipping process. That said, I’ve found the sound on this ukulele to be acceptable after some tuning. You’ll definitely need to tune it, so just be sure you don’t have your expectations not set so high. There are some minor surface imperfections on the ukulele, especially close to the end of the fret board where the tuning pegs are. These do not affect sound in any way, but just detract from the visual appearance of it. I guess if it bothers you, you can sand out these paint ridges, but that’s a risk as the sanding process using fine sand paper can make it less visually appealing. I chose to let it be, after all it does not affect the sound in any way. The color of the aqua color I selected online matches exactly what I received. No color discrepancy was detected. In summary, for the price, this is an okay musical instrument. There are of course ones that cost more and would look and sound better, but for a child who wants to just lay hands on a musical instrument, this fits just fine price and size wise.
  • Sturdy and pretty little ukulele
Bought this for my musically inclined 1 and half year old. I was a bit worried that, it being a real ukulele n not a toy, it might be too delicate for our toddler. It’s only been a few days but right out of the box, I could tell it was very sturdy. It’s not the most sophisticated or polished looking ukulele. It’s obviously for beginners, but it is well made. The paint finish is quite glossy and very smooth. All the little details are clean and well made. I especially love how the edges of the frets are filed down making them smooth n safe for little fingers. And so far it is holding up to my child’s “playing,” which involves plucking the strings aggressively, tapping it on the floor, and putting her foot on it (I’m teaching her not to do these things however for obvious reasons!) .And she loves it! She has been super possessive of it from the moment I handed it to her.And regarding the tuning, I have some experience already with nylon string guitars, so I knew that the strings take some time to stretch. So it’s normal for it to take some before the strings stay in tune. Which has been the case with the ukulele. But even then, my old classical guitar would eventually get out of tune, much more quickly then a steel string guitar, so I expect this ukulele will behave similarly.
  • Cute and affordable
Looks cute but the strings do not seem very durable. Sound is okay but it needed lots of tuning
  • Perfect for beginners
Bought this for my daughter and she absolutely loves it. It’s great for someone wanting to learn how to play. It lacks tune retention but it’s easy to transport. Good quality for the price
  • so nice blue OMG
The color stunned me. The feeling of blue and green is beautiful. I’m going to study the tutorial carefully. Get started as soon as possible. I hope I can play a song for my family at Christmas.

  • (4.5) Misses perfection as a travel ukelele, but still an awesome uke that I recommend!
It has been the biggest surprise that many people have found love with the Enya Concert Travel Ukulele a.k.a. the Nova U, a carbon fiber ukulele. For one, where many travel ukulele are soprano, Enya released a travel ukulele available in numerous colors but also, extra swag, gig bag and a marketing campaign which has many of the top ukulele YouTubers showcasing it on their channel. Now, as one who is learning to play ukulele, the idea of a travel concert ukulele is quite exciting. So, let’s begin with talking about Enya, the first thing one may see is the logo and its similarities to the singer enya. The type-face is totally different and there is no relation to the singer.Enya is based in China and while many ukulele’s from major brands are made in China, and known as Enya music, unlike other Chinese brands, this company is about quality, affordability and also making sure those who are wanting to learn the ukulele, you get treated with a lot of cool swag and a gig bag but most importantly, the company is known for listening to its customers and improving their product. The company includes with the travel uke and gig bag, a strap, a capo and backup fluorocarbon strings. A tuner is not included. And I know some people may look at the front and think this ukulele will be difficult to tune because of the Enya logo on the front. But this is not the case, because there is a sound hole, but it’s located on the side of the body. The version I got was black is made of 30% carbon fiber & polycarbonate. The finish is Satin but I will have to say, and it’s something I expected before I ordered this (that’s why I went back and forth of going black or white), but I love black too much and it’s a travel guitar, I expect to get fingerprints on this travel uke.The size is 23″ concert, which is the next step up in size after a soprano and before a tenor. The strings are Enya Fluorocarbon.I absolutely love the gold tuners on black. Oh, and it’s important to emphasize that these tuners kept their tune and probably had to adjust the tuners every half hour or so, as opposed to several minutes like some inexpensive ukes from China. One thing you’ll notice with those playing black Enya Concert Travel Ukulele Nova U – 23’’ Carbon Fiber are the fingerprints. So, if you can’t stand to see fingerprints, black may not be for you.And as I was playing the Enya Concert Travel Ukulele Nova U – 23’’ Carbon Fiber, I was impressed with it. Not just with the sound, how it retained its tuned sound, but also overall presentation from Enya and what it comes with. It’s actually quite awesome and while the sound is different from a wooden ukulele, not by a whole lot. The Nova U sounds absolutely awesome! In fact, you can see a few cool YouTubers performing with it:It’s important to note that Enya also offers a pickup, a DOUBLE AcousticPlus which is about double the price for those who want an electric version of this travel concert ukulele.Note: An Enya Concert Ukulele Nova U is under $90 US.So, for the most part, this is an awesome travel uke! I absolutely love it!But there would be a few things that would have made it perfect…Colored Frets – The Nova U needs colored frets, not all black. You can feel it, but you can’t really see them unless you are in the light.Fret Dots – For beginners, having fret dots on the side for beginners. Great to see Fret Markers on the Fret Board, but this would be popular for schools because the uke is durable, but if it had the fret dots, I can see these being purchased by music teachers for their classes.Tuner – Enya offers a tuner for many of their products, but not the Nova U. In fact, I think the set would benefit with the tuner more than the capo itself. But overall, this is an fantastic travel concert ukulele from Enya. If you are in the market for a travel ukulele or a uke to keep in the car or to play at home, definitely give the Enya Concert Ukulele Nova U 23’’ Carbon Fiber Travel Ukulele a try!
  • Still My Favorite Gift to Date
This ukulele is still my favorite gift to myself to date. Even after 3 years, it still sounds and looks great!
  • Easier to play.
It is much easier to play than smaller ukulele. It’s beautiful and has an excellent deep tone. I want to get the plus style next time. It looks really cool.
  • Perfect uke for beginner.
Love it Sounds bright. Cannot believe its not wood. Completely man made product. Confident of its durability and quality. No bending wood, bracing theories and glue. Monolithic…probably scratchproof.
  • Super good!
Really good quality! I have no complaints about the ukulele — it’s pretty much perfect. The capo it comes with isn’t the best, but I have another one, so that’s not much of an issue for me.
  • Travel uke
This is a nice instrument and well priced. It plays well.
  • Amazing quality
This ukulele is definitely worth the money spent! It is so easy to tune and it stays tuned. The size is just a perfect size! I love the matte look! Also love the case that it came with and having some extra string is also handy! So very happy with this purchase.
  • Great condition, on time—nice! Thanks!
The ukulele came in great condition, on time, and via an unexpected discount. Thanks!

What Customers Say:

  • “Upgraded RockJam Uke: Say Goodbye to Old Martin Smith Issues”
I got the RockJam UK-222-BK as a fun project uke, and it’s been a great little instrument for the price. The black finish looks awesome and gives it a cool, modern vibe — perfect for my Halloween-themed “Spookulele.” ????????Out of the box, it plays beautifully with perfect intonation — which honestly surprised me at this price point. It seems like RockJam must have done a quality overhaul recently, because as of today “9/10/2025” my ukulele was set up just right and completely playable. It didn’t come with a chord book, but it did come with a nice gig bag, which is great for carrying it to lessons or travel. I added my own strap buttons and strap, which made it much more comfortable to play, especially for kids’ lessons and longer sessions. The stock strings are fine, but upgrading to Aquila strings will really bring out the tone and help it stay in tune longer. The build feels solid for a budget uke, making it perfect for beginners, kids’ lessons, or anyone wanting an affordable instrument to experiment with.If you bought this before reading the horrible reviews — don’t worry! Those were for the old Martin Smith version. This new RockJam works great.
  • Great value for the price!
My 10 years old daughter has been using it non stop since Christmas 2024, it’s holding up fine, it’s a beginner’s friendly instrument, sturdy and reliable. It tunes very nicely and the tune stays. I recommend it if your child has shown interest in starting an instrument but it’s not sure if you’ll stick with it.
  • Watch your fingers…
I gifted this to my older sister for her birthday as she wanted one when she seen mine. It does the job, it’s definitely a good gift for a child who on a whim just wants an instrument. Cheap enough so that if they don’t take interest at all, you wouldn’t mind if it had to be tossed. The quality of it itself is… questionable. It comes out of tune pretty fast, and has to be tuned in between sessions. Not just slightly off key, but MASSIVELY off key. The paint job is nice if you don’t look too close and the strings are all right. It sounds a bit echoey, but that’ll happen to a painted uke. Now for the bad part. The nut is something that cheap ukuleles just can’t ever get right to my understanding. It’s much too high. You have to use an amount of force to push down the strings on the first fret, and it hurts your fingers much faster than on a uke with a polished nut. It even slightly affects the sound of the uke. However, this is still a good uke for introducing someone to the instrument. The higher nut may even force them to have correct hand placement. All in all, its good for the price, sounds okay, and looks nice. I would recommend getting a better ukulele at least for 50 dollars if the person who recieved it takes a liking to the instrument.
  • Fantastic first fingerpicking foray!
The media could not be loaded. Clearly aimed at youngsters, the under $20 price tag assured no hard feelings if my grandchildren would not be enticed to persevere and sustain an interest in learning their first stringed instrument. Fortunately, they enjoyed learning to properly hold and tune the ukulele and pick out simple lines. They found the tone pleasant and had fun getting acceptable articulation within minutes. Although the instruments needed frequent retuning at first, it became more stable as the new strings stretched out. I encouraged them to close their eyes and tune to a stable pitch source rather than match a visual tuning app, and this further encouraged their ability to trust their ears. They soon began learning simple melodies and a few basic chords. After a few weeks of commitment, I offered to upgrade to a better student model and ultimately a six string guitar as their hands grow.
  • Good… for the price.
While this is one of the cheaper options, it might be worth it to spring a bit more on instruments. I got this because my friend said I should try to learn ukelele. When it got to my house, I was surprised by the sleek look and design of the instrument. However, the strings themselves are plastic. That’s fine but it does make it a bit more difficult to tune and play. The chords sound a little sour when I play them, but that might be a mix of quality as well as lack of skill. I’ll leave that up to y’all to find out!Other than that, it’s definitely sturdy and strong, and the only thing that would wear down are the strings themselves.
  • Defective! Teachers, Parents, Just Buy the More Expensive and Reputable Brand.
These ukes are defective and junk. It has been heartbreaking watching my kiddos let down, who So eagerly wanted to get started learning uke, by incorrect manufacturing and junky strings. I bought 24 ukes for a class set thinking this would be great for beginners and no heartbreak if a string broke or a scratch happened, but these ukes are junk! They don’t even play the right notes during tuning!! The vendor only sent 23 out of 24 ukes and a lot of them looked banged up, used or damaged. If you see the pictures, some came without strings, some looked patched up and damaged, some didn’t have the frets! I feel like I let my class down! The nut is also placed too low causing the wrong notes to be played. I don’t have my $120 cordoba to compare the nuts, but I Urge you to do your research and buy a reputable brand, and maybe buy the uke from this brand. You’ll see that the nut is entirely too low, but really, don’t waste your time and money. Open notes/tuning is fine, but the notes sound a half to whole step too sharp, when pressed, causing very cacophonous notes and chords. Instead of making music with the chords they already learned, I saw pain on their faces as they were playing these defective, out-of-tune, pieces of junk.Really, it’s worth having students share and take turns in groups with a quality, in-tune, instrument over not being able to play at all and be heartbroken because they waited and anticipated these ukes, but can’t play them because they are defective. Morally and ethically, I cannot support students learning with out-of-tune instruments.Amazon, if you’re reading this, it’s time to get a new brand. Please have a musician try your products before selling them.

What Customers Say:

  • Very nice instrument for the money. Truss rod is rare in ukuleles and a big benefit.
I was about ready to order an Alvarez Ukulele, when I stumbled across this K-Mise on Amazon. After watching several favorable reviews on Youtube, I decided to take a chance on it. After using a discount coupon and a few bucks of credit I had at Amazon, I got it for $68.00 for the kit that includes gig bag, picks, and a truss rod wrench.First things first, I have a big problem with the way it was packaged at Amazon. The packaging from the manufacturer, thankfully, was very good. Nice thick box, foam wrap around the Uke, and snug inside it’s padded gig bag. Amazon then chose to put that in a HUGE box, with only one piece of packing paper which did absolutely no good whatsoever. The box was badly damaged on the outside, and the inner box with the Ukulele was bouncing around all over the place. Luckily, thanks to the manufacturer packaging, it was undamaged. The instrument looks and sounds great. A couple of minor points…the two wound copper coated bass strings were showing signs of corroding and will need to be replaced very soon. This is pretty common for instruments from China though, and isn’t a big concern. The second minor thing was that there were a few frets that had a slight roughness near the edge of the fretboard. This, I am fairly sure is due to the winter weather and low humidity. I believe it will be fine after a little while in higher humidity with a home made humidifier bag in the case. If not, then some very slight fret dressing might be necessary. The frets are not terribly rough or poorly filed, just a little shrinkage I think. Again, fairly common with imported instruments that may have stored for a long period of time in a warehouse and then shipped in cold weather. As far as the sound and play of the instrument, it is amazingly nice for the price range, and obviously cheap strings. The action is perfect. One of the main selling points for this ukulele for me was the adjustable truss rod. This is unusual for a ukulele, even at higher price ranges, and can be a major benefit if at some point the neck happens to warp a little, or the factory action adjustments leave a bit to be desired.Overall, it is a 5 star product for sure. I’ve been playing stringed instruments for decades, and know the difference in junk and decent quality. If you have $300 up to spend on a higher grade instrument, and are that serious about it, go for it, but this one fits the bill very nicely for the casual picker, beginning student or amateur musician.
  • Perfect for Beginners
TLDR: I did a lot of research before purchasing this Ukulele. For the price-point, this is a really great beginners Uke. I have no regrets on this purchase. The strings seems to be of good quality, and the craftsmanship of the Uke is beautiful.A note on the strings, it is NORMAL for them to go out of tune frequently in the beginning. They have to stretch. If you play it a little everyday it’ll help the process go faster. Took maybe 4-5 days for me, but I didn’t mind as it gave me good practice for getting it just right. The thickest string took a little longer but I only had to adjust it a few extra times. Now it stays pretty well in tune. Sometimes the pegs get bumped when in the soft case, but that is to be expected.I saw 2 posts note that the edge of the frets had a little roughness to them on the edges, and they used a nail file to smooth them out. I, too, noticed a little tiny tiny bit of roughness on the one I received. This is the only negative but can be remedied in a few seconds. It has a nice tone and is the perfect size for travel, playing in a car on long (and short) rides. You can play this softly so as not to disturb others if they are sleeping in the next room or on the phone next to you, or at a normal level as you would expect. It isn’t super loud so outdoor playing may not be as loud as you like but from my understanding that is normal for the Soprano’s in general. If you like to play outdoors or large rooms where sound doesn’t bounce off the walls, maybe go for the Concert size. The Kmise Soprano is a versatile little instrument with a beautiful sound. The included tuner is perfect and simple to use. The little booklet that is included is by far the most helpful little guide I’ve ever received with an instrument. Be sure to read it and use it to get started. I’ve only had this little beauty for a few weeks and I’m much farther along than I expected. The case is nice and perfect for keeping the Uke dust-free between playing. It’s been handy for carrying to and from the car/other destination, and from the weather.I reached out to customer support to let them know how much I loved this little Uke and they replied back quickly. I have zero concerns when it comes to working with Kmise and I’m happy I went with this Uke.
  • For the money this is a good deal
First off, you get what you pay for. Having said that let me list off what i think of it and why I gave it five stars. The Uke is of better quality than I was expecting. No dings or flaws that I can find so far. Sound quality is also above what I thought it would be. It is not going to sound like a high end Uke but again for the money I am happy with it. the strings are decent and remember they will be loose when you get the Uke and will need to be tuned… and tuned again till they stretch and hold the note.. Just to let you all know I am a beginer at playing a Uke so My knowlege of how things should be is limited. Now for the things that came with it. The strap is very basic but functonal, seems that it would be better for a kid than an adult. The tuner is basic but is easier to read and use than my Snark so far. The Capo is nice but it will not fit a guitar I think but perfect for a Uke. I have never used a rhythm shaker but this one seems okay. The picks and cleaning cloth are standard. I found it funny that most of the odds and ends were all pink lol. I almost forgot about the strings. I know nothing about strings yet so no clue if they are good or not.Like I said above for the money this is a great buy. This a basic nice Ukelele, good for kids and adults starting out,

What Customers Say:

  • Only $53???!!! A semi-professional guitarists perspective…
Previously I wrote a review regarding the Makala Shark Bridge Soprano Ukulele. Unfortunately, with that particular uke, it arrived in very disappointing fashion. The workmanship [or lack thereof] and quality control issues forced us returning it, and spending an additional $10 for the Kala Mahogany Soprano Ukulele. Let me just say that the differences between these two Ukuleles is truly like night and day……for those of you who DIDN’T read my previous review, I will say that I’ve been a guitarist for over 25 years. I have a lot of experience in the construction, setup, and playing of acoustic and electric stringed instruments. Specifically I am a rock and metal player, but cull experience from nearly every genre of music. My wife and I were searching for an inexpensive beginner’s ukulele for a 5 year old girl to use for her first foray into music. Upon ordering the ukes, we had them delivered to us so that I could go over them, make sure that they were properly constructed and setup prior to sending to her. Being that I have given MANY lessons in my day, and have encountered many different instruments, I know that THE most common reason that a student gives up on a stringed instrument is if it is poorly set-up [i.e., physically hard to play]. NO stringed instrument should require a Herculean amount of strength. The Kala Ukulele arrived very well packed…by both Amazon and from the company. Upon taking the ukulele out of it’s second inner most packing box, I could immediately see that it was in fact made of mahogany [intentional mislabeling of construction wood is an unfortunate part of inexpensive guitars and stringed instruments]. Not only is this actual mahogany, but it is a very excellent example of mahogany. The wood is a deep shade of brown with a dark black grain running throughout. The pores of the wood [a tale tale sign of true mahogany] are very visible and clearly indicate that this is an excellent example of mahogany. The fretwork is EXEMPLARY. I’ve seen $400-$500 guitars have fretwork not as good as this. The brass frets are all properly seated and well finished. For anyone familiar with guitars and stringed instruments, fret ends [the point at which your hand makes contact up and down the neck] can be a very troubling point of contact with inexpensive instruments. However, these frets have been manicured to a level that there is no sensation whatsoever.Another point of emphasis: the nut. The nut, in my estimation is one of THE most important parts of any stringed instrument. A nut should be properly cut as to allow the strings to move without binding [binding creates issues with tuning and intonation] and the nut slots should be cut as so to allow the strings a downward trajectory into the tuning machines [maximizing resonance and projection of the instrument]. Again, this instrument is exemplary as it relates to the nut. The nut is a plastic “bone facsimile” and it is properly cut with an attention to detail I could never have expected at this price point.Tuning CAN be a bit tedious with this uke…the tuners are VERY pedestrian, but at $53 [most tuning machine sets cost more than this ukulele did] one shouldn’t expect them to be more than utilitarian. Please be prepared for the tuning machines to slip a bit when tuning…it’s very easy to get impatient, but if you take your time it will get to pitch. Once you’ve tuned the ukulele, as with any stringed instrument, it will be important to stretch the strings and then retune at least two additional times before optimal tuning stability will be achieved.Upon tuning the ukulele, and strumming some chords, I quickly realized what a gem this truly is. The uke is dynamic, resonant, and truly is the sum of all the aforementioned parts. Single notes sing out and have great harmonic content. Chords ring and project very well. I have played every note on the fingerboard and none of them are dead or have any intonation issues whatsoever. To put this in perspective, I just bought myself a guitar three weeks ago. It cost me $2,500. It is the epitome of modern guitar construction and is arguably the greatest stringed instrument I’ve ever played. But this $53 Kala Uke has a home, in my home, right next to that guitar. I’m not comparing the two; I’m simply saying that the playability is such that I WILL be buying myself one once this goes to our granddaughter. The “dollars per smile” ratio on this thing is incomprehensible. I can not say enough about this Ukulele and if you’re in the market for a Uke PLEASE do yourself a favor and buy one. You will NOT be disappointed, nor will you regret it for one single solitary minute.
  • Would buy from again for sure.
Feels and grounds great. Like most nylon strings, it did take about 2-3 weeks to stay in tone, so be prepared to keep up with it, especially if its a gift to a child.Build quality is good and I’ve not had any issues in the past month of playing it. Would buy again for sure… (looking at a bass ukulele next)
  • tl;dr : Yes, this is the ukulele you been looking for.
Let me just start off by saying I am by no means a professional in the field of music nor am I an ambitious music student studying to become the next Jake Shimabukuro. I’m just a guitar player (and not a good one) who wept and wept because I could not play the dreaded… barre chords. That’s right, I wanted to learn to play the uke because my fingers are short and my hand is weak (that sounded weird).Thus. I began my journey to find the most awesome, chick-magnet, best-bang-for-your-buck ukulele on Earth. I searched on Google, hunted in Reddit, and crept through online blogs to obtain the answer. And after my extensive trip throughout the corners of Internet, it was clear… I just needed to find the highest rated ukulele on Amazon. All jokes aside, this is a rough estimate of why i bought the Kala KA-15S Ukulele. It had great reviews across multiple sites, it was made by a reputable company, and most importantly… it was pretty cheap for a beginner ukulele. I was looking for a quality instrument that I could practice with, but also inexpensive enough that I wouldn’t feel guilty about it if I failed to learn. My first impression of the ukulele was the beautiful mahogany wood. I picked it up and held it close to my face… and sniffed it. Yes, I smelled it okay? Stop judging. Anyways, I started to play random notes/chords and sang “Riptide” to my SO. Was I off-key? Probably. Did I sound terrible? Maybe. But did my fingertips hurt? NOPE! I couldn’t say that about my guitar, Yamaha FG700s, if you were wondering.I did eventually learn the basic chords like C G Am F and some barre chords like B and Bm later that night. And coming from a guitar, these strings were softer than a freshly baked Krispy Kreme Doughnut straight outta of the oven. No kidding. I could actually play simple barre chords for the first time ever AND I didn’t cut through another layer of calluses on my fingertips. BOOYAH! (cyborg anyone?)In conclusion, Yes. This is the ukulele you have been searching for. Whether you are an experienced player or a beginner like myself, the Kala KA-15S really does stand out among the rest. I highly, highly recommend this without a doubt. Now if you excuse me, I gotta sing a special song to a special lady. Wish me luck :)Quick note: Tuning this particular ukulele is easy; I personally use an electronic tuner. But the A string seems to go out of tune more often than the other 3 strings. Not sure if that’s normal, but just wanted to give y’all a heads up.

  • Gorgeous ukulele that plays and sounds incredible!
I am very impressed with this ukulele. It is well constructed and the sound is crisp, clear and perfect volume. The blue color is stunning. I asked several friends to guess the price I paid, and they all assumed it was in the hundreds. I recently returned a ukulele from another company as it felt too small for my fingers to play chords within the narrow frets. This Ranch tenor size is perfect for me, and I am totally pleased with my purchase, and I highly recommend this company to anyone on the market for a superior instrument at a very reasonable, affordable cost.
  • A great value for a very fine Tenor uke!
This is a wonderful kit to buy as a beginner, intermediate or “beach/camping” ukulele player who wants to try a tenor size uke. I have been playing a concert-sized Cordoba 15CM for the past couple of years and I love the sound and quality of that instrument, but wanted to try the slightly larger size of a tenor ukulele. I did a lot of research and the Ranch product received enough rave reviews that I figured I’d try it. It has turned out to greatly exceed my expectations in all respects.Pros: – great quality construction- the wood and polish look very rich and don’t look cheap at all- keeps in tune- fullyw enclosed all-metal tuning gears- includes Aquila nylgut strings (these make all the difference in sound and play)- frets are well placed, smooth, and the right height for fast chording- the slightly rounded back helps make the sound rich and quite loud without sounding tinny or cheapCons: – the included tuner device is okay, but not great… I use my KLIQ Ubertuner instead (it’s great!)- I don’t usually use a strap when playing, but I found that the included strap is just okay for holding the instrument, if you want to use a strap at all.- This Ranch tenor uke weighs only about an ounce heavier than my concert sized Cordoba, even though it’s 3 inches longer and the center of gravity is about an inch further up the neck than the Cordoba concert uke. It feels a little “neck heavy” to me because the body is so light, but I got adjusted pretty easily to this. All in all, I think this is a great sounding, high quality, easy to play ukulele that I’m happy to use for pretty much any purpose and proud to take to jam sessions.

I got this uke as a gift to my girlfriend for xmas and she loves it! She has some experience on guitar and is picking it up quite quick. I have also been playing around on it and coming up with some little ditties (while I should be working, lol). I have a background in guitar and bass (although very rusty:) so am picking it up pretty easy as well, but took a minute getting used to the gCEA tuning; getting chords transposed and figured out from what I’m used to. It really is a blast to play tho!The ukulele itself is beautiful and well built! Much more so than I was expecting for the price point. It plays really well, stays in tune and sounds excellent compared to some of the other cheaper ones I’ve heard. The case and tuner, extra strings and strap are all a great added bonus and all work as expected! I would definitely recommend this purchase, besides from the fact it is a quality product, it has gotten us both back into playing music and having another creative outlet, which is a win-win. We are both having fun learning new songs and techniques; I will most definitely be buying another at some point so we can jam it out together.I attached a video example to see it in action:)
  • Solid value for a beginers instrument package.
Generally seems well built and better made than expected. Nice looking, traditional Uke. Comes strung, but of course very out of tune, it took some time to get the stretch out of the strings. The tuner is a little confusing to use at first but unless you have a piano or other standard to use (or perfect pitch) it’s a nice item to have. Had to tune and re-tune the instrument several times over a couple of hours before it settled-in and for the most part stayed close to being in tune. Go slow and be patient. (I suspect it should get even better after a few days) The extra set of stings are always good to have on hand for any stringed instrument. I was happy this came with a set as I was a little concerned about breaking one while tuning, but having the extra set made it not so much of a big deal. The gig bag is much better than you might expect with a beginners package, more than adequate and is well padded. It is not on par with a Martin or other high end instrument but certainly a good playing and nice sounding Ukulele for a beginner or even intermediate player. Not the cheapest or most expensive but certainly a Good Value.

  • My first ukele
I feel this is a good place to start for beginner that wants something slightly larger than a concert size. For the most part, mine stays pretty much in tune, though I may have to adjust it a tiny bit every now and then. The bag is thin and wont’ protect it from much other than dust. All in all, it’s worth trying, especially when it’s on sale. I had some rewards points to use so that made it even more affordable. The construction is nice and the wood is smooth.
  • Start to play and sing along !
Oh yeah ! I are buying a very nice and VERY affordable ukulele. It is lightweight but very well built all around. Great sound and you will need to adjust the strings at first and they will be all set after a couple of weeks.
  • so good boi
very good boi but one string dont wanna tune but its ok cuz i can change it boi. i give 9.5/10. buy now boi
  • Good value, well made, comes with everything a beginner needs
Owned over a year. Well made with strap and everything else you would need to start playing. Sounds good enough for me, a rank beginner. Could the sound be better, probably but that would cost hundreds more. Good value.
  • Fantastic ukulele for the price!
I am a somewhat seasoned uke player, in that I have been playing for the past couple years. I started in 2018 with a Kmise zebra wood concert instrument that I purchased on a whim. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the uke was, both in play ability and construction. Fast forward to today, and I now have six ukuleles, including a Ubass. UAS syndrome? Perhaps… :)I bought the Aklot Bamboo ukulele for a couple reasons. First off, it has a unique look to it, which I like. I also have a Enya Nova, and a Risa Stick uke, so I really like ukes that are unique. Second, Aklot is part of Kmise…or maybe Kimse is part of Aklot, not sure, but anyways, I really like the zebra wood concert Kimise, so I felt like I would not be disappointed. And, I was not! I did do some research, and by far the biggest complaint about this uke was the “Designed by Aklot” engraving on the body. I am very happy to say that it looks like Aklot have listened, and this one did not have any engraving! It’s always nice when companies listen to their customers, and sadly a lot of them do not, so kudos to Aklot/Kmise! The other complaints that I do agree with are very minor. I feel that the strap buttons should be black or gold, so as to match the tuners, and the inlay dots should be black, as the white kinda gets lost in the paleness of the bamboo neck.Speaking of bamboo, everything here is made of it. The body, bridge, neck, fretboard, and headstock are all bamboo, and I have to say, it looks great. The finish is of the matte type and is pretty much flawless to my hands. I also cannot find any flaws with the construction. Everything fits well, and from what I can see, the internal bracing is very tidy, with no glue seepage. Speaking of internal, I really like the wood badge that would normally be paper. Very cool little addition! I want to say that the top is a sold piece of bamboo…which it is, but also isn’t. It is one layer of bamboo, but is made of bamboo strips, like a cutting board. I believe the back and sides are of this “one layer” construction as well. Far as the neck goes, I cannot feel any sharp frets, and the action seems to be just about right. Tuners are a open geared type, are very smooth. Again, I just wish the strap buttons matched these, but that is an easy fix.How does it sound? Well, very good, although different from wood. I can’t really explain it, but it is a different sound, which I think is a good thing. Being a plant, bamboo is certainly going to have different characteristics than wood, so I can see where the sound would be affected. Also, bamboo is supposedly much more resistant to shrinkage, so this might make for a good travel uke.Accessories it comes with include a tuner (which works well), strap, picks, and a very nice gig bag. The picks…are guitar picks, and not sure why they are included, but they are. Felt picks would be welcome, but no biggie. The strap is nice in that it is an actual ukulele strap, and not a wide guitar strap. I also love the gigbag, which is a nice grey color, and is very well padded. However, mine has “Kmise” on the front instead of Aklot.Overall, this is a very nice ukulele for your money. I’d recommend it for a beginner, as it is easy to play, or for anyone who wants to have something different in their ukulele collection. And also, I’m tired of all the “Made in China” bashing. Yes, some crap stuff comes out of China, but also some crap stuff comes out of the US, or anywhere for that matter. There is good and bad stuff everywhere, but from my experience, Kmise/Aklot ukes are squarely in the good category, if not great!Keep calm and play ukulele folks!
  • Stunning looks, unique tone, amazing value
AKLOT Concert Ukulele, Solid Bamboo 23 Inch UkuleleI ended up having to replace the first one that came because it had a weird tuning peg. The second one (the replacement) has no issues at all, but there are some design differences between it and the first one and you could receive either version when ordering. The first one with the wonky peg was completely smooth–like glass–everywhere. Body, sides, top, neck, fingerboard, bridge. The entire instrument was completely smooth. The replacement is almost completely smooth but has an unfinished fingerboard and bridge, as well as a very small number of “open pores” on the top, sides and body. The first one was prettier but honestly, the second finish is more practical and easier to hold onto. So just be aware that what you receive could have a shiny fingerboard and bridge or it could have a plain versions and the body/top/sides may not be glass-smooth. But they might be!The ukulele itself is impeccably made and quite striking to look at. Feels good and balanced when holding and playing it. Has a really interesting tone with harmonics and sustain that’s mainly in the lower end. You may also notice differences in tone depending on how much of the back you have against your body, so I’d recommend you experiment with positioning. Came with a good set-up (both did) so it’s easy to play. Frets are dressed well. White inlaid fret markers and side markers can be a little hard to see against the blonde bamboo if not in bright light. Compensated saddle helps with intonation. Absolutely amazing deal at $49.99 that only gets better with the accessories. The gig bag is very good and well-padded. Comes with a tuner, strap and humidifier. You will want to pay attention to humidification if you live in a dry area or an area that requires central heating because bamboo instruments can crack if they get dehydrated. Although it’s a solid bamboo ukulele, the sheets of bamboo that comprise the top, back and sides are made by gluing strips of bamboo together side by side, left to right. As long as you treat the uke the way you’d treat any solid wood stringed instrument, it should be fine. Avoid rapid, severe temperature swings, temperature extremes and humidify it when conditions warrant. If you’ve considered this ukulele, you should get it!
  • Great ukulule, poor customer response
The ukulele is great. It is attractive, has a nice resonance, and has good reviews from musicians. However, the directions for the clip-on tuner said to push in and slide the cover off. The directions for inserting the battery did not say that an almost imperceptible screw needed to be removed to remove the tuner cover. I had to find a very tiny screwdriver to remove the screw. I wrote to the customer service three times and expected a response within the time they said to expect one. I didn’t hear from them. This morning, after telling Amazon that I didn’t hear from them, I received an instruction to remove the screw.
