What Customers Say:

  • Brilliant Movie, End of a Great Saga
Mission: Impossible The Final Reckoning is the icing on the cake, making it the perfect ending of Ethan Hunt’s journey after 30 years. The underwater and aerial stunts are breathtaking; that’s why it’s better to watch them on a bigger screen for an immersive experience. Props to Tom, Christopher, and the entire cast for working so hard to make this brilliant movie, which is far superior to the other action franchises. Just have some popcorn and enjoy this amazing film.
  • Very good movie
Very happy with this purchase. Was a great finish to the series. I really enjoyed the movie. Lots of action.
  • Great video
Very fun movie ???? and the 4K looks excellent.Package arrived in great condition!
  • Big fan of MI series. All included disks work but Paramount limits where you can use digital copy
What can you say about Mission Impossible, if you are already a fan? This movie does not disappoint. A great ending to this two part series and to the Mission Impossible series with Tom Cruise, as a whole. Tom Cruise is aging and watching was sweet sorrow. That being said, the story line is not unfamiliar. End of the world is coming and the crew faces death, bad guys and political obstacles. But I will not reveal more to avoid spoiling the ending. The cast of characters is great and the movie is well made. I especially like that they go to the places where the scenes take place to lend realism.PRODUCT QUALITYAll the discs (4K, Extras and BluRay) were tested using my PS5 and they work fabulously.PARAMOUNT licensing for digital copy sucks! The digital copy code inside the case did not work with anything but my Apple TV. Paramount restricts usage and wouldn’t let me put it on Movies Anywhere. So it isn’t really a digital copy from the standpoint that I can use it on any of my streaming services except Apple. A big letdown. As I originally bought this movie using Amazon Prime (digital) and it was unable to be used on any other digital service. So thought if I got the discs with digital copy that I could use the digital copy on Movies Anywhere. But NO. So it was a paramount licensing thing. Everyone knows some services don’t work as well as others and that can be up and down depending on what hacker is attacking what company. I think I can download it to a device but not sure. Will think twice before ordering any Paramount movies disks with digital copies in the future.
  • Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning (Steelbook)
Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning (Steelbook) (number 10 in movie series) 5-star movie, It’s Tom Cruise! Just saying that should be enough! But if you need more? Ok! Best in IMAX, or home theater. Great plot, great acting! Awesome, did I mention AWESOME… stunts work! One of or generations best movie Actor. The follow up to Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning (Number 9). Great Cast, Tom, Simon, Ving, Haley, great Directo, great Writer. The entire film, flix, movie. Whatever you refer to it as… It’s 5-stars. A must own. Steelbook in excellent condition!
  • Fantastic Picture and Sound for a Great Movie
The Atmos effects on this disc are amazing. Great positional audio, deep LFE that shakes the house. If you’re a fan of the MI movies, this is a must-have. Thank you, Tom Cruise!
  • Excellent Part 2 Movie
This is the second part of the Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning. The first part was excellent with high reviews. The second part called the Final Reckoning was also an excellent movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat. As the first part, the action will leave you breathless. Exciting movie and highly recommended to watch. As with all the Tom Cruise Mission Impossible movies, they are as this one was, fun to watch over and over.
  • Awesome 4K Steelbook for Final Reckoning
Love this series and love the Cruise! Such a great movie with excellent video and audio to impress you and your guests for a movie night! Great extras also. You get a really good-looking Blu-ray of the movie also. No brainer…get this!

I have watched the Dark Knight Trilogy so many times on various streaming platforms. Make no mistake this is a perfect trilogy but watching while streaming just doesn’t make your 7.2.4 system come alive like this 4k UHD Disc does! For example, the attached video clip of the Dark Knight’s “helicopter crash” scene has no subwoofer (LFE) action while streaming, “that’s not good” is correct! When you watch this trilogy on a 4k disc all of your speakers and especially your Subwoofers come alive and the audio quality is Sublime! I think this 4k UHD Trilogy set is the perfect reading why you should switch to a 4k UHD disc player and stop streaming movies! Also, just because movies don’t have the immersive badge like Dolby Atmos or DTS:X doesn’t mean it’s an inferior experience. The Dark Knight in 4k and DTS-HD master audio 5.1 is by far better than a lot of catalog movies with dolby atmos trueHD. Even though this is only in 5.1 it is still a great reference disc to really flex your system and makes you a 5.1 believer again…meaning dts-hd ma 5.1 or 7.1 can sound a lot better than a catalog movie with upmixed dolby atmos.
  • Buena compra

  • Quality
The package is very nice and I will definitely give a 5 stars IF the audio is Dolby Atmos or DTS X.
  • Great Trilogy, Fun packaging.
I won’t get into the details of the movies themselves as everyone who is reading this most likely loves the movies enough to consider a trilogy box set. So I’ll save you plot points etc. I will only said that this is a great trilogy. The first two Tim Burton movies set the bar pretty high (of course the third and fourth in that series lowered the bar so much you would assume they were starting a limbo contest). But Nolan picks up on the edgier Burton films (edgier than previous tv/movie incarnations) and took off with it. The end result is a more or less fulfilling trilogy with great special effects grounded in a very real environment. Gotham can be any major metropolitan city with a gritty, dark underside. Now onto the box set, it’s pretty well made the vehicles included are great (but it sucks that you can’t take them out and replace them in the packaging…even though we are adults it’s still fun to play a little, or at least look at our toys). The frame able prints are interesting as they are somewhat conceptual, and would look nice on your wall (I used my scanner to make a copy so I can post one on my wall and keep the original safe). The included art book is nice and has a really good look and feel to it. It’s glossy but it has parts that do not seem glossy which gives it a unique look. It reminds me of comic books where you get covers that have parts that stand out, and others that are almost faded into the background which draws your eyes in more. It’s hard to explain, but, as I was saying it has a nice look and feel to it. Too bad it’s not a hardcover book. The “book” that holds the cd is nice as well. Each movie is showcased on their own set of pages. Batman Begins only has one blu ray disc the other two have two. and there is a bonus disc as well (that is separate than the bonus discs that came out with the individual movies). the cd holder part of the page is designed in such a way as the art on the cd completes the art on the page. Almost like a puzzle piece. it’s a great idea, except one of the movies the cds are black to fit the image so it’s not as impressive as the one where you have part of the batpod wheel printed on the disc to complete the picture. It’s a small thing but it makes it more fun and interesting. This is a hardcover book, and the art in it is phenomenal as well. The movies look and sound great, and the bonus disc, while not overwhelming has a few things that are worth taking a look at. Notably is seeing Chris Nolan and Richard Donner discuss their iconic superhero movies, as Superman was a definite inspiration to Nolan (his words). Overall this is a great and exciting set and a great way to get all three movies in one place. if you’re a huge fan of batman like I am then this is something you shouldn’t pass up. I showed it to my brother (who lives in the same house) and when he saw it he got himself a copy as well. So that should tell you something. While this is a great set, It’s probably too much for the casual fan, but at the same time it may draw you deeper into the batman mystique. It’s a definite must have for any movie/superhero movie collector.

What Customers Say:

  • Excellent Propaganda
Landman is a series written by a man, mainly for men, about men working in the West Texas oil industry. I’ll narrow it down further: it’s a series best suited to absolutely delight red state oil men in their 60s and older. Overall, it’s entertaining and mostly fast-paced. Billy Bob Thornton proves once again that his charisma and outstanding talent can elevate any project. Jacob Lofland is flawless. Ali Larter and Michelle Randolph must have understood that their lengthy screen roles as ‘dumb blonde bimbos’ were meant to try to revive and justify a decades-old, degrading female stereotype. Certainly, a lot of screen time was used up having the camera aimed at their female body parts. As well, their inexplicable, contrived scenes with the nursing home residents are beyond cringeworthy. I don’t know why these two, reportedly very intelligent, women agreed to their roles, but that was their choice. The series somewhat sympathetically shows who, as it historically has always been, is in charge — a small number of ultra-wealthy, aging white men who want to maintain their power over others. Especially true in Texas. This isn’t a judgment; it’s just how things are. I’m a lifelong Texan. Lived near Midland for 20 years before moving to a Texas metro area that is supposed to be safer for women.Sheridan’s writing does seem to perpetuate various outdated negative stereotypes, but I don’t think it’s due to lazy writing. More likely, it is intentional. Whether or not the fossil fuel industry is funding this series, it’s still worth watching to see Billy Bob Thornton set loose to do what he does best.
  • Awesome series, easy to binge watch
This is just a lot of fun, good story, Billy Bob is hilarious at times. Watched it all, twice, loaned it out to two friends that loved it. Can’t wait for Season 2 DVD
  • Finally back to Normal!
The great American return! What a fresh breath of a show after the amount of shows that diverted from story telling into the the ideology of 2020 to 2024- I applauded paramount forgoing back to normal!
  • 2025 Top 3 series. it being #1
Billy Bob and really all the casts have out did themselves. The writers (Two thumbs up)!! Love I mean LOVE this series.I have not laughed this hard in years!Cast is A one!
  • Dysfunctional family. Like most of us have.
This is a great show. Its the first thing I have liked Billy Bob Thornton in. I hope they keep up the good work.
  • Great series. If you liked Yellowstone you’ll like this
    Great series. Humor and drama.
  • Great Watch – Biased towards oil industry and spews some misinfo about renewables. But entertaining.
Love the authentic Texas feel and Billy Bob Thornton always brings it home. However that protagnists female family seem to be almost stereotypical spoiled blond bimbos, and of course this series is heavily biased towards the oil industry. When they inspect the windturbines he says a lot of non-factual things about renewable energy; so do not take the information you get from this series as factual. It is at least self aware enough to compare our society’s addiction to oil to our addiction to illegal drugs. And having worked in the oil indsutry myself when I was younger, it does pretty much capture the good-ol-boy culture pretty well.
  • Great video at a good price..

  • Demo-Worthy – The Ultimate Way to Experience Blade Runner 2049
If you want a disc that will show off what your home theater system can really do, this is it! Blade Runner 2049 on 4K UHD is reference quality from start to finish and easily earns 5 stars.Video Quality:The 4K transfer with HDR is jaw-dropping. The neon-lit cityscapes, desert wastelands, and moody interiors all pop with incredible detail and contrast. Blacks are inky but never crushed, and highlights have a richness that streaming just can’t deliver. Every texture—rain, dust, skin, fabric—feels more lifelike. Compared to streaming, the difference is night and day; it’s like watching the film for the first time again, almost theatrical in scope.Audio Quality:The Dolby Atmos mix is demo material. Hans Zimmer and Benjamin Wallfisch’s score rumbles with chest-thumping bass, and the sound design surrounds you from every direction. Distant echoes, environmental effects, and flying vehicles overhead put you right inside the world. Even with a modest 7.2.4 Atmos setup, this disc makes you feel like you’re sitting in a high-end cinema.Bottom Line:This is the definition of demo-worthy. If you want to flex your system or experience Blade Runner 2049 the way it was meant to be seen and heard (at 0.0db Reference Level), the 4K disc is essential. Streaming doesn’t come close—this is pure home theater magic.
  • Good 4K disk to test out a 4K blu-ray player
I needed a 4K Blu-ray to play in the Sony 4K player, and this is a good disk to test it with
  • Another remake type
Not bad for a remake type movie, liked better than the first one.
  • A good sequel
This is the 2017 long-awaited sequel to the (now) iconic 1984 film Blade Runner, which starred Harrison Ford a Deckard, a Blade Runner who hunted down and retried Artificially Intelligent Androids called Replicants. This movie is set 30 years after the original movie. We find out that the Tyrell Corporation has been taken over and is now the Wallace Corporation, run by Niander Wallace (played by Jared Leto). The corporation still makes replicants and has basically turned them into slaves, and the Earth has become a dystopian nightmare, in large part due to an electromagnetic pulse that wiped everything out in 2022. Ryan Gossling plays K, the most advanced replicant (a Nexus-9 Replicant) who is a Blade Runner that hunts down and retires rogue replicants. In the process of retiring a replicant at the beginning of the movie, he discovers evidence that replicants can reproduce biologically, and this leads him, through a series of events, to finding Deckard (again played by Ford). I will not spoil the movie for those who have not seen it, but if you have seen the original movies, similar themes play out in this movie that did in the first one.For those who get the 4-k blu-ray, it is a two-disc set with a UHD disc just containing the movie and a regular blu-ray with the movie and the extras. The A/V quality of the UHD disc is top-notch, pretty much what I would call reference quality. There are, of course, a lot of CGI effects in the movie, and everything looks seamless so, if not for flying cars and the like, it would be hard to tell what is real and what is not. The extras include two longer featurettes, one 17 minutes and one about 22 minutes, that focus on casting and the look of the new movie. Then there are a series of prologues which are prequel shorts to the movie that provides some backstory. The longest is just over 15 minutes and the other two are around 6 minutes. Then there are a series of short featurettes that total 11 minutes and can be played all at once, which cover different aspects of the Blade Runner world. Then there is a trailer for the game that was released around the same time as the movie. All in all, the extras total about an hour and twenty minutes, give or take.Overall, the movie is very good. The writers did a good job incorporating parts of the story from the original film into a new, updated movie, and made it work. The cast is very strong and includes Robin Wright, Ana De Armas (in her first major role in the US), and Dave Bautista. The movie even finds a way to incorporate Sean Young’s character (using a similar kind of CGI and real actor blend that was used in Rouge One) from the first movie without her appearing in person (although she is still credited as appearing as Rachael). Like the first movie, it is hard to classify what genre this is. It is a movie that has a lot of action, but it is not really an action movie per-se. It is a mix of action, drama, philosophy, and thought experiment all rolled into one. The acting is top-notch with Gossling doing a great job taking over the leading role, and Ford steps back into the role of Deckard well. It is a worthy follow-up to the first movie and is definitely worth watching.
  • Classic film receives an unexpected sequel that Almost rivals the original.
When has a cult classic that failed at the box office gotten a sequel? I can count the times on half a hand. “Blade Runner 2049” banked on that cache unfortunately, while it did well, the cost of the sequel prevented it from becoming a box office winner. In the long term that doesn’t matter though as this direct sequel is a worth follow up to Ridley Scott’s 1982 film. It does have its flaws that Scott’s original release but they aren’t as bad as could have been.Set nearly three decades after the original, film, Replicants are still out there and still on the run. Rather than rely on humans to retire them (and whether or not you believe Scott’s take on the original character of Rick Decars or not doesn’t really come into play), the force that retires them now relies on a Replicant that is less human than human who goes by K (Ryan Gosling).:He gets called into a termination that calls into question whether the most famous pair to escape ‘justice’ Deckard (Harrison Ford) and Rachel (Sean Young ) are still alive. Complicated by the fact that Niander Wallace, who,has bought the troubled Tyrell Corporarion, wants to create Rwplicants who can reproduce and is also looking for the pair, K has his job cut out for him. He also begins to sense what he is missing-the more human than human aspect that informed early Replicants.Directed by Denis Villenvue from a script by Hampton Fancher (who co-wrote the original film) and Michael Greene (based on a story idea by Scott and Fancher), the film is awash with the characteristic production design and photography that made the original film so memorable. While it does run too long by about 20 minutes,,the film is a fitting sequel to the original. The 4k looks exceptional although this is not the IMAX released version but the standard theatrical cut. The impressive production design benefited from the taller presentation of the film. The monochrome look of the film with desaturated colors is intentional. Detail remains exceptional on this digitally shot production. The 4K version wins over the standard blu-ray due to the format itself and presentation. The blu-ray looks fine but all the extras are crammed on the Blu-ray with a film that is well over two and a half hours long. That means that the space for the feature is limited somewhat by the extras (though it should be noted one really would be hard pressed to tell except on the largest possible monitor). The Dolby Atmos mix is rich with detail and puts one smack dab in the environment. The special features are copious with two featurettes, three “prequel” shorts that set up what occurred between the original film and now (and is alluded to in the sequel), and six short featurettes on the universe of the film. These are all located only on the Blu-ray (not 4K) disc. What’s missing is an in depth commentary track.“Blade Runner 2049” turned out to be a worthy sequel to the original film marred by some pacing and length issues. It isn’t a perfect sequel but it does measure up well to the original. It’s a worth while film that focuses as much on character as the built up to the mystery of locating Deckard and Rachel. There are some terrific performances as well in the film and some notable supporting cast members that do an outstanding job in the film. Will you enjoy it? Just go in knowing that the pacing is a slow burn and the film runs a bit too long and you will.Highly recommended.

Very good to watch but confusing at first before you gets the hang of it. Based in the future.

  • Awesome Movie
1408 is one of the best horror films to come out in 2007. The movie almost felt like a spiritual sequel to the Shining because it also takes place in a hotel. Well a haunted hotel room in this case. John Cusack is great in the lead role, who does what he can to investigate haunted places, but later exposing them as fake haunted places. He later finds out the hard way that 1408 is really haunted and will not let him leave the room alive. He is also battling his inner demons such as the death of his young daughter. Great psychological thriller that messes with your mind. It will make you wish not to venture into the unknown ever. Highly recommended.
  • One of the better Stephen King adaptations!
The number of films adapted from a work by Stephen King are too numerous to list here; but, the number of excellent movies based on a story or novel by the horror maestro is a lot shorter–The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption, Stand By Me, Misery, The Dead Zone, Hearts of Atlantis, Delores Clairborn, The Mist, Cujo, and now, 1408. This movie, starring John Cusack, was one of the best films that I saw last year, and the Director’s Cut with an alternate ending on the special two-disc DVD collection is just as good, if not better in my opinion. For those of you not familiar with either the story or film, John Cusack plays Mike Enslin, a man who travels around the country and debunks the myth of haunted houses and rooms, publishing the results in his “occult travel guides.” He simply doesn’t believe in the afterlife or the supernatural, or anything for that matter, especially since the death of his young daughter from an illness. Everything changes, however, when he visits the Dolphin Hotel in New York City and stays in the infamous Room 1408. Though the manager of the hotel (played wonderfully by Samuel L. Jackson) warns him about the dangers of the room and the large number of people who have died there, Cusack’s character thinks it’s all a bunch of hot air, designed to attract people to the hotel and increase the business’s revenue. Once Cusack gets settled into the room, things start happening to slowly change his mind and by the last quarter of the film, he’s struggling just to stay alive. That’s when he decides to fight back and to figure out a way to destroy the room and its evil. For me, this was one of John Cusack’s best roles. He carried ninety percent of the film on his shoulders and did so brilliantly. I believed in him and his character, and I desperately wanted Mike Enslin to make it out of the room alive. Samuel L. Jackson also did a great job as the smooth talking manager who knows the truth about Room 1408 and decides to let John Cusack do what he has to do. The special effects of the film are believable and extremely intense and will have you sitting on the edge of your seat, spilling the popcorn on the floor. I also have to say that though I really enjoyed the theatrical version of the movie, I think the Director’s Cut on the two-disc set was even better. It was longer with an additional seventeen minutes added to the last third of the film, and the alternate ending was more realistic. If you’re a fan of Stephen King’s writing, or an avid viewer of horror flicks, I would highly recommend this movie. It’s one of the better films to be done from the horror writer’s stories and definitely one of the best horror movies I’ve seen in the last few years.
  • King Adaptations: This One Works
Firstly, MINOR SPOILER ALERT AT END OF THIS REVIEW! Ok,I loved this movie, and am surprised that it didn’t do better at the box office; I had never even heard of it until I saw it on Amazon. With Stephen King movies, you pay your money and you take a gamble (I remember all these years later, sitting in the theatre and watching CUJO, Hmm, somebody owed a pretty hefty downpayment on the newest house). But 1408 earns its’ five star rating, and, having the double disc with both endings included, I have watched both versions a couple of times, and I intend to watch it again, soon. The plot is discussed in the many other reviews listed, and so I am going to pretty much stick to my personal view of the acting, for the most part – obviously, the writing, direction and production can be flawless, but if the acting isn’t up to par, it’s a complete waste of time, effort and money. John Cusack really surprised me with his portrayal of a burned out, grieving writer, Mike Enslin, who churns out books about hauntings/ghosts/the paranormal not because he has any belief in them (he specializes in debunking such things, but there is an underlying and unspoken suggestion that he may have at one time believed, or hoped to find proof that he could believe), but because it pays the bills. After he receives a mysterious postcard telling him to check out Room 1408 of The Dolphin Hotel in NYC, Mike demands to be allowed to stay in 1408, despite the hotel manager (Samuel L. Jackson) telling him that the room is not available. This is where the movie pretty much turns into a one man showcase for John Cusack, who gets his way, gets into the room, and then can’t get out. Watching John change the character of Enslin from a bored, cold-as-ice-what-do-I-do-today-to-keep-from-driving-off-a-bridge individual whose only child has died to a man who realizes that the bizarre events going on inside that room simply have no explanation (trickery, him being drugged and delusional, etc.) is fascinating, and again, I can’t figure out why this movie, and John’s acting, didn’t make more of a critical splash. Whether he’s taken aback at the sudden appearance of pillow mints on the bed or watching a ghostly and long ago suicide victim cross the room and climb onto the open window’s ledge, Cusack shows just the right amount of shock, then cracks in the shell, then near hysteria and back to the sudden, sickening recognition that he might not being getting out of there alive. The other actors and actresses in the film are pretty much relegated to glorified extras, all there to advance the plotline, but that acting as well is good, and Samuel L. Jackson, as the manager Gerald Olin, could have delivered his few scenes in too heavy a hand, and it would have come off more camp than frightening…instead, he hits the mark perfectly, and the viewer realizes that Olin is just as afraid of 1408 as he tells everybody else to be. I really, really enjoyed this film, although I strongly disliked the version with the alternate ending: whether it is because you end up liking Mike Enslin, and pulling for him to make it out and not only write a great book but see Life through renewed eyes (there’s a few seconds’ scene at the beginning of the movie where, when sorting through the mail that holds the 1408 postcard in the first place, Enslin receives a birthday card – Cusack does a wonderful little weary, “So what?” glance at the card and flips it away, saying more right there about what this character feels since his child died than had he spoken three pages of dialogue), I just didn’t really want the film to end (SPOILER!) with the hotel room winning. If you want to see Mike not go down as yet another victim to that ‘evil f@#!@#@ room’, as Gerald Olin puts it, watch the version that was widely circulated. If you want to see how Room 1408 adds another notch to its doorpost, the director’s cut is for you. And if you want to be just a little more cautious when traveling from now on, when you check into your next motel/hotel room, do some quick arithmitic of the room number. If it adds up to ’13’, well….
  • Everything is perfect on it no scratches or anything
Beyond incredible movie with the extra content as well

One of my favorite movies. Great story. It’s longer though. Awesome cast. I watch it when I can’t sleep or when it’s rainy and my household is peaceful.
  • Unpredictable and gripping
My rating is more of a 4.5.Thanks for reading in advance!???????? ????????????????’???? ???????????? ???? ????????????????????????????????.????????’???? ???????????????? ???????????????????????????? ???????????????? ????????????????.The Place Beyond the Pines is a 2012 American neo-noir crime drama film directed by Derek Cianfrance, and written by Cianfrance, Ben Coccio, and Darius Marder. The film tells three linear stories: Luke (Ryan Gosling), a motorcycle stunt rider who supports his family through a life of crime, Avery (Bradley Cooper), an ambitious policeman who confronts his corrupt police department, and lastly, two troubled teenagers (Emory Cohen and Dane DeHaan) who explore the aftermath of Luke and Avery fifteen years later. The success of this film undoubtedly rests on the shoulders of its starring actors – and, boy, are they capable of heavy lifting. Despite the variances in screen time, each one – both new and seasoned – delivers devastatingly weighted performances; the scales are tipped in their favor (as is appropriate to the storyline) without easily inserted melodrama or vapidly included contention. For the audience this does one of two things: it makes the pain of its subjects devastatingly palpable (at times my heart was stressfully racing in anticipation for the reveal of what choices would be made) and makes its characters worthy of emotional investment that is beyond compare.Told in a linear fashion, ‘TPBTP’ has a viscosity to it that avoids convolution and makes it extremely easy to follow. It’s professionally woven exposition acts as an incubator for conflict – it would be accurate to say that it practically and theoretically writes itself. Regardless, there is a glaring lack of desperation that is worth mentioning as this requires some viewers to make inferences they may otherwise not be prepared for or willing to consider; a lack of much-needed Insight regarding alternative decisions individuals could make within the overarching context of their existence negates the implication that its characters have no other choice or any sense of true autonomy. There is much to be said here in regards to destiny and the influence of legacy – but these messages transfer inadequately on screen and depend solely on how its viewers feel about concepts such as fate and predestination. Some suggest that ‘TPBTP’ has significant pacing related issues – and it would be a lie if I said there is no truth to this sentiment. That said, the payoff of sitting through moments lacking in excitement is worth the cost of being temporarily unamused. Cianfrance avoids the temptation of polarizing his characters into camps of “right” or “wrong” or “good” or “evil” . Alternatively, they are revealed as having more in common with one another than originally expected or assumed. As a result of this its characters are forced to explore the consequences of living a life that is cushioned by privilege or faltered by chance. This complexity – at times overwhelming and yet ambitiously commendable – makes ‘TPBTP’ a loosely bound tribute to generational trauma and the ferocity of reconciliation. On the surface ‘TPBTP’ meanders as a simplistic rendering of the ways in which children can be unexpectedly and exponentially affected by the sins and reputations left behind by paternal figures long after their most immediate period of influence. On the contrary, it is a heart-breaking and gripping account regarding confronting where (or, rather who) you come from without compromising your potential for growth, self-preservation, and capacity for redemption.I would recommend!(Probably my favorite ‘First watch’ of 2021 so far!)
  • If you like story, this one is worth adding to your library
I thought this film was going to follow one protagonist, then it became about another protagonist, and then before the film was through, we’d added two entirely additional arcs to concern ourselves with that were unexpected. This isn’t a complaint. I found it an innovative and courageous method of engaging the viewer and unraveling a story. Overall, the pacing is on the slower side, or it would be more accurate to say that it winds down as the film goes on – but there are plenty of punctuated instances of high intensity and “shock” (for lack of a better descriptor) that keep it moving along and add stakes to the experience. You will find yourself being routinely surprised, and it succeeds in that regard without question. The conflicts which are setup exceed expectation and defy predictability. I found myself thinking about them well after the movie was over.Overall, the approach to this film was unique and I applaud them for taking the risk. Acting is solid and you believe the characters are experiencing every nuance of their portrayal. Glad I stumbled across this lesser known gem.
  • Ignore the TROLLS and See This Film
This is a very gritty and suspense filled movie that covers everything from a life of crime, to redemption and tragedy, in two separate time periods, making it almost like two excellent movies in one. The plot is complex and full of emotion, with just enough action to appease those who like action, but it does it interchanged with much real-life drama. Now, I read the reviews first and almost didn’t watch this based on the number of dimwits who gave it one or two stars, with asinine comments like “Meh” and “Sucked”. In this day and age, we can now assume that these reviews are written by a bunch of dull children and/or mentally challenged adults, who only want to see explosions and gunfire through every second of a movie. DO NOT read the bad reviews. I read many of them and I’m 100% convinced these reviews were left by TROLLS, who do nothing but shoot everything down that is good, just to appease their own sense of self-worthlessness.From now on, let’s just focus on the Top Reviews, because the trolls leaving one and two stars, especially for this film, don’t have a clue what they are talking about. The TROLLS have ruined the internet.
  • The Cast Is PHENOMENAL! Great Acting and plot/storyline!
This movie is a masterpiece as it holds truth and takes you on a journey through the lives of several different characters and how they intertwine, influence, affect and impact each other and their lives. It’s a deep dive and realities that go ignored and that we pretend not to see. -Watch

  • A must watch
If you liked his documentary on the Civil War then you’ll love “The American Revolution”. I found it to be an in depth and thorough documentary of the Revolutionary War. I have no complaints or even any criticisms about the documentary. And I was very impressed with the amount of paintings that were shown and zoomed in on, it must have been well over 1000. It was like visiting an Art Museum on the Revolutionary War. And seeing all the old forts and buildings that have been preserved and still stand today from that period, I truly enjoyed it, and I plan on rewatching it. But keep in mind this documentary is 12 hours long, so if you have a hard time paying attention for long periods of time then it might not be the right documentary for you. In that case might I suggest TikTok videos. But if you don’t have TikTok brain then you won’t be disappointed. Ken Burns outdid himself on this one.
  • A near masterwork.
I’ve taught American history at the elementary level for over 40 years, and in the course of that time I’ve found and used a number of videos about the Revolution. None ever even came close to this one for the sweep of its coverage, the honesty of its portrayal of so many of the aspects of the conflict , both good and bad, or the depth of its examination.I have only one complaint: that besides the coverage of Washington’s military exploits and even those of Horatio Gates at Saratoga and Camden, those of Nathaniel Greene got relatively short shrift. His extraordinary sccomplishments in the southern theater made possible the final defeat of British arms in the colonies and thus the successful conclusiin of the war.Apart from that, this was a masterwork.
  • Boring Stories of Revolutionary Battles and Nothing Much More for Twelve Hours
This is a review of the program not the product being sold. This is got to be Ken Burns MOST taxing, boring, overdone series in his career! If you’re a military historian you may enjoy and appreciate all the details of all the battles, but as a trained scholar of this period (MA American History) there is nothing new here.Sleepy time city here folks. The better documentary is a 6 hour documentary done in the late 1990’s titled Liberty! The American Revolution. Don’t understand why Burns decided to micro view all the battles instead of telling us the stories behind the American and British personalities involved in this eight year struggle for independence. Not entertaining and not informative for scholars of this period.
  • God blessed a nation called America
Well I for one, found this riveting. This combined with Liberty! The American Revolution provides a more complete understanding of the hard earned and desperately fought freedom which we so richly love. I am a proud American veteran and have literally been around the world. There is truly no nation as God ordained nor as beloved as by it’s veterans. We and Jesus Christ are the only ones who truly understand the freedoms fought and died for and not some spoiled “scholars” as there are here. May God continue to bless America, amen.

(Abraham Woodhall, Benjamin Tallmadge, Robert Townsend, or just a mention of “THE CULPER SPY RING”, or other spies like: James Armistead Lafayette who spied for Layfayette as a double-agent against B.Arnold & Cornwallis & was critical to our win at Yorktown;POLLY COOPER, the Native American woman who led her tribe hundreds of miles in the snow carrying baskets of corn to Washington’s starving troops during the winter at Valley Forge,BATTLE OF FORT GRISWOLD/THE BURNING OF NEW LONDON, CT-Sept. 6, 1781-Benedict Arnold is largely forgotten in the destruction of almost this entire town (in his hometown state) & how the people were massacred in cold blood. To this day, they burn an effigy of Arnold on the anniversary, in rememberence of this travesty.NYC EVACUATION DAY-Nov. 25, 1783-It was great to see this mention (Before the Civil War, our country celebrated this every year) but I would have loved to see it emphasized at just how bitter THE BRITISH DIDN’T WANT TO LEAVE, ie., The last British soldiers put up the Union Jack flag on the highest pole they could, & then GREASED THE POLE, so that it would be that much more difficult for any American to take it down! There are SO many other things I would have liked to see, but I’m sure any omission was due to the limited time & $$$.This was such an overwhelming production, it’s a miracle it was even attempted, let alone finished. But I’m grateful it came in time for our country’s 250th Anniversary: as a revelation to, or a reminder of, what we need to live up to as a nation. THANK YOU KEN BURNS!!!

  • Best 4K UHD Conversion from this Era
I am incredibly happy with this one. The terminator is one of my favorite movies and I know it in and out. However, I just had the standard dvd version. Recently got a UHD player and have been replacing some of my favorites. This one looks REAL good. The majority of the movie takes place at night and overall low lighting conditions, and even then it looks phenomenal. It looks like it was originally recorded in full HD – there is minimal graininess compared to other 4K movies from the era I’ve gotten (ST III). I’ve seen detail that I’ve never been able to pick up on before – the scene where Sarah bites Kyle, he has a bite scar on his hand the rest of the scene. Never seen that. Nor the terminator shead a tear when taking out his eye.I wish all the 80s movies looked this good.
  • Looks fantastic in 4k!

Classic movie and quality is great
  • my favorite film of all time!!!
Terminator 1 is a classic!!! it’s one of those films that people NEED to watch before they die. not only is this film a classic, it’s prophetic. just look at modern AI systems popping up everywhere, look at all the robots that look human being built around the world today and you will wonder when the militaries of the world will create a T-800. it’s not far fetch that an actual T-800 will be built for war in the near future. i have a belief that major military powers around the world ALREADY have Terminators in secret bunkers. im not joking and it makes me wonder if James Cameron actually saw the future.i have bought Terminator through out the years on VHS, DVD, Blu Ray, and now 4k and if they release this film again on Holodisc i’ll buy that too lol.this 4k release includes original soundtrack but personally i don’t mind the remastered sound but if you are a die hard purist then this 4k have that original sound included.again, i have so much love for this film. it’s so special and it still holds up today. even modern films can’t compare. it’s an amazing film. personally i like Terminator 1 more than Terminator 2 bc original Terminator is a horror film and is way more brutal than action oriented Terminator 2. that police station massacre still sends chills down my spine everytime i watch it. those cops were slaughtered, they stood no chance! even today, watching that scene still makes my jaw drop. it was brutal! modern Hollywood will never make a scene like that today bc of political correctness, but the Terminator gave no fudge and that is what makes this film so special.only complaint i have is that release feels “bare bones.” no special features, no extras like a poster or some sort of physical goodies. besides that, i feel they did a great job w/this 4k release. 2027 is around the corner 😉 Terminator fans will know what im referring to. maybe in 2027, they can do something to celebrate :)yes, buy this 4k version or you will be TERMINATED!!!

What Customers Say:

  • Movie purchace
One of the Best movies ever!
  • Best Bond film
I agree with other reviews. This is the best Bond film of them all! Great tempo and story. Sean Connerywas the best Bond. (Someone thought I looked like Timothy Dalton, but his Bond films didn’t interest me). Surely sexist, but I enjoyed the Bond Girls during their best years. For my taste, B-clichés like “shaken, not stirred” didn’t work as well with repetition. Car chases usually work!
  • Bond, James Bond!!!
On of the best James Bond movies!
  • James Bond is back in action ! Everything he touches turns to excitement !
I first saw “Goldfinger” when it first premiered on television on the ABC network in early 1972. I was 16 at the time. Well, I’m 67 now and got it DVD and appreciate it more than ever. This was the first James Bond film I ever saw. I first got it on BETA back in the ’80’s. Then on VHS in the ’90’s. This is one of my favorite action adventure movies. Released in 1964, this was the 3rd James Bond flick. “Dr. NO” in 1962 and “From Russia With Love” in 1963 being the first two. Sean Connery returns as Agent 007 and this time his assignment is to go after Auric Goldfinger played by Gert Frobe ,who’s plot is to corner the world’s gold market by sabotaging the gold reserve at Fort Knox in Kentucky. Goldfinger is considered one of the best Bond villains of all time. The lovely Honor Blackman plays the Bond girl “Pussy Galore.” Shirley Eaton plays Jill Masterson, Goldfinger’s accomplice in a memorable role. Harold Sakata plays Goldfinger’s henchman “Odd Job,” another great villain. Bernard Lee returns as “M,” Lois Maxwell as his secretary Miss Moneypenny and Desmond Llewelyn as “Q.”Director Guy Hamilton does a fine job. John Barry composes a great score and Shirley Bassey sang the popular theme song which reached No. 8 on The Billboard Charts. Bond drives a fantastic Aston Martin. Which was chosen because it is considered England’s most sophisticated car. This was the first one to become a big hit at the box-office and the first to win an “Oscar,” (for Best Sound.) The tagline for one of the movie posters read….”James Bond is back in action ! Everything he touches turns to excitement !”
  • It’s the film, the film with the MIDAS touch….
This is the movie that pretty much made Bond as a film institution. The car, the music, the cinematography, (for the day,) the casting…absolutley EVERYTHING was perfect for this third film installment of the Bond series, and it paid off. For a time, “Goldfinger” was THE highest grossing film in the world before “The Sound Of Music” came out. And at only $1.50 a head back in those days, $43,000,000 was no mean feat! What made “Goldfinger” so fascinating was that, as far-fetched as the idea was, the possible attempt by a foreign power to take over Fort Knox was STILL all-too-conceivable! Not much was changed from the book, but it WAS substantial: The inimitable Miss Galore only had 2% of the book, she had 66% of the movie. Tilly Masterson, who had 66% of the book, had only 1% of the movie. Felix Leiter was only in the last 2% of the book, but was all through the movie, and, in the movie, introduced Bond to Auric Goldfinger. In the book, the guy Goldfinger played gin with met Bond at an airport in the Caribbean as they were both leaving the island got Bond interested in Herr Goldfinger’s suspected card cheating initially. In the book, Pussy Galore was actually one of the people brought in by Bond and Tilly FOR Goldfinger to help engineer Operation Grand Slam. In the movie, she worked for Goldfinger as a pilot and flight trainer…in the book, she headed a troupe of aerialists. (In the book, Bond and Tilly were granted their lives after being captured on the condition that they actually work for his organization AS recruiters and planners!) However, with all these differences, (and there are more!) the “feel” of the book is pretty much kept intact.Another thing, if you are too young to remember: This film, probably more than any other in movie history, influenced pop culture unlike anything you’ve ever seen! Pop literature, movies, television, manufacturing and magazine publishing all went bananas for the whole Bond aesthetic and lifestyle. TV was awash in Bond imitators on all three networks: shows like “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.”, “The Wild, Wild West”, “T.H.E Cat”, “The Secret Life of Henry Pfyffe”, “The Avengers”, “The Saint”, “Danger Man” (“Secret Agent”,)”Honey West”, “Get Smart”, “Mission: Impossible”, “Mannix”, “Amos Burke, Secret Agent” and “Blue Light” started being programmed in as if a sluice gate opened after 1964, the year of Goldfinger’s release.Fan magazines popped up for “U.N.C.L.E.”, Bond, The Avengers and “Secret Agent” and commerce, too, dove in, with “007” toiletries for men, “Silva Thins” cigarettes, “James Bread from Bond”, “The Man From G.L.A.D.” and Mattel’s “OM” line of toys. Nothing…repeat, NOTHING, not even Star Wars or Star Trek merchandising, ever equalled this madness! Many Bond competitors popped up in pulp novels as well, characters like Matt Helm, Modesty Blaise, George Smiley, Harry Palmer and others too numerous to mention. Movie rivals were “Arabesque”, Blaise, Our Man Flint, Helm, George Smiley and Alec Leames, Harry Palmer and others, including a substandard comedy duo, Allen and Rossi, doing a piece of swill parody called “The Last of the Secret Agents”. Even the gruesome, lowest common denominator sitcom, “The Beverly Hillbillies”, parodied Bond. It was incredible!BTW, did you know that Auric Goldfinger was Russian and was actually working for SMERSH? Well, now you know! All in all, a movie with few faults in a period when good movie mystery/adventures were actually just getting revived as a genre, (“Charade”, “Arabesque”, “Our Man Flint”.) This baby could easily be called the King of Them All!
