Really blistering fast SSD.I do software development and work with lots of large databases. The 990 PRO shows up and delivers with very low latency and excellent speeds. It’s easy to find benchmarks online, from places who can better measure and compare so I’m going to do that here.One aspect I like is the Samsung Magician software, as well as the software they’ll give you to transfer data to your new drive. The Magician software is super easy to use and helps you keeping an eye on the SSD, lets you know what temperature it’s running at and if the SMART values are OK. It’s easy to use and read, no need to be an expert. Let’s you update the SSD firmware if there’s a new version. It’s all-in-one and works extremely well; I can only speak for Windows use here, not Linux or other OS.There have been very few firmware updates.. I remember one when the drive just came to market and there was an issue about longevity rating but that has been fixed long ago. A new drive will already have that fix on them.Just a sturdy product with no surprises. I’ve ran the 2TB version since it came to market, and added the 4TB one a few months ago. Nothing ever went wrong, and that’s why I mostly buy Samsung SSDs.

Installed this in my ASUS ROG gaming laptop and the performance boost was immediate. Load times dropped to nearly zero, and everything from boot-up to game launches feels lightning fast. Very fast SSD. Not cheap, but not totally unreasonable price. I used in adapter to USB C access. About as fast as possible with USB C. High performance. Standard SSD size. 4 TB is great for the SSD. No hiccups. Easily installed in USB C adapter box. Slows somewhat and gets very hot when transferring large files. I transferred ~850 GB file. After a few minutes it slowed down somewhat and got very hot to touch. Could not keep finger on the adapter box. About same as other SSDs when transferring large files. I formatted ExFAT. Worked fine. Recommended. No significant temperature rise with files under 100 GB.

Works fantastic. Received this as a Like New item at a rather significant discount and when it arrived CrystalDiskInfo only had 600gb ever written to it which I would say is certainly like new quality. Was packaged well. Using it in an external enclosure so I won’t get the full rated speeds but it’s still fast af. And the TBW rating is a nice peace of mind for a high quality drive from a name brand company. Easy to install and the 4TB capacity should be more than enough to use as a working drive. A nice change of pace from my earlier 1-2TB externals.

I own an ASUS Rog Strix G317 with Windows 11 Pro. I replaced the WD drive which was bad, with two of these in 4Tb capacity. They both run on average at 35-38C under a good heavy load. Boot time from a cold start to logon screen averages 25 seconds and from logon to usable windows is 12 seconds. This of course will vary with individual setups, but the speed of boot up and loading of apps and data has been cut by about 30-50 percent. Individual pcs will vary due to system errors or number of apps being loaded, but in my case, it was worth the money. The capacity gives me plenty to work with graphics. Performance is very good.

Did what I wanted. Does heat up super fast when used as a retro gaming stick and will freeze if running too long. But for normal use it does work as intended very well.

I bought a couple of these because I needed them for a project. What I didn’t know is the size. They are so small! I love them! They take up almost no room whatsoever.Also, it’s very subtle, but they’re on a bit of an angle, so when you have one in your hand, it’s just at the right angle to pop it in.They work quickly and so far no glitches at all. I will continue to buy this brand and style.

Thought the 512GB was a counterfeit. But have proven it’s not using simple tools that did write/read testing. For the most part, I got about 50-60MiB/s Write, and around 100-160MiB/s read, sequentially. Formatted (ExFAT/NTFS) it’s about 460GB which has provisioning for extra spare blocks to lengthen lifespan and speed. Overall. I give is a 4-stars. 5 for being what they said it is, 4 stars for the slightly slow write speed. This is because the drive is fresh, and this definitely isn’t NAND memory. Even TLC NAND is faster, but it may be adequate enough. For my wife, long-term photo storage is what I got it for, and it’ll fit. Not only isn’t small, but the relative storage size is huge, and cheap, and I can see this used for a lot of trading media or swapping out backups overtime cheaply. It’s likely many degrees higher able to survive fires in a fire lock box than a hard drive, and tiny enough to throw on a keychain for imaging with something like ventoy or a quick and dirty linux/windows boot disk. It seems to be of decent sandisk quality, and time will tell, but maybe for a single or dual-disk raspberry Pi server, or even a server intenal boot disk for diagnostics/headlsess server, this is likely a great use for that. it’s fast enough for a raspberri pi 4 and small enough to not be a nuisance. also great if you have a car that needs to offload dashcam footage like a tesla or some retrofitted car entertainment systems. It doesn’t generate too much heat, even after me running full tests, and can be used as a quick and small OS X bootable disk if you are at a university with a lot of storage space. They seemed to have design some reliability thinking with the spare blocks being reserved, meaning it should last a long time. It should be able to do most file systems, but for FAT32, you may need to create a partition for that, but you can do a lot of 32GB FAT32 partitions if you need to, and reserve the rest for Linux, MacOS or Windows-based filesystems for bootable and other data seperate. Could be used to make a kiosk in public too with right tools while being able to hide it, or pull it quick.

I love these for the simple fact they are the most reliable/durable flash drives that I’ve used. And that is more important to me than speed or really anything else.That said these are relatively fast and a good value for their capacity. Will most definitely buy again if I need more.

I’ve purchased a number of SanDisk products over the years and have yet to be disappointed. This is my first purchase of the Flash Drive Ultra and I find the quality and performance to be excellent. Speed is good and well within the benchmarks stated as far as read/write speeds. I’m not real crazy about the thumb open / close mechanism allowing dust or other foreign matter to infiltrate the Male USB port insert, but I guess time will tell. At this price point per drive, I don’t really have much to complain about. I generally do a visual inspection of my drives anyhow, so blowing dust particles out or using a Q-tip dipped in Alcohol to remove any debris is simple enough. The instructions are straight forward and easy to understand for even the most untechnical amongst us and the RescuePro Deluxe Software included is a very nice feature for when those magical “OOPS!” moments occur. I think most of us have had at least one occurrence that left us scrambling for data recovery software after a drive was corrupted or an accidental deletion of files and folders that bypassed the desktop Trash Bin. The application comes with both Mac OS and Microsoft compatible versions ready to install from the disk as well as a download link for any additional copies. Registration / Activation is inscribed on an insert inside the drive packaging. Open the drive packaging carefully to keep this vital information from being damaged. SandDisk makes very reliable storage devices. I have used them for years at work and home. And they stand the test of time. I have an old 1 GB from over 10 years ago that works like the day I bought it.

At this point, I have used only one of the two USB 3.0 Flash Drive in the order, but it worked perfectly, downloaded quickly even though it was plugged into an older USB port. The drives seem to be solidly made and easy to handle. The portion that plugs into the port will actually retract into the body of the drive when not in use, so it is better protected.

This small USB flash drive is super for the amount of storage you get. I recently purchased some SD cards for the same purpose and was surprised that they would not work. They were 2tb’s, but I have never had a single issue with SD cards before. Not really sure what the problem was, but this SanDisk 512GB flash drive comes through and is very fast in the downloads for the amount of I am downloading.I will be purchasing SanDisk flash drives again.

I needed a flash drive with a lot of room for photos because I’m a hiker. I was constantly running out of room in my Google storage, not anymore! I bought a 4TB Seagate Ironwolf drive to replace a WD drive I had that was giving errors in my UNRAID server. I have not bought a Seagate drive in a very long time. There was a period of time when Seagate was great, then a period of time when they were not so great. Anyway, I figured I would give Seagate a try again, especially since their drive was $15 cheaper than the same WD drive at the time. I received my drive and it was well packaged in protective packaging and inside a box. The drive had the same familiar footprint dimensions but was a shorter height which was interesting. Anyway, it didn’t make a difference really. I removed my failing WD drive from the server, and then slotted this seagate drive in. I then started the server and once booted I assigned the drive to the correct slot in the menu and the server immediately began rebuilding the data on the new seagate drive. The drive had zero issues and zero errors on it from testing and rebuilding. It delivers good read/write speeds, but read/write speeds are really dependent upon many factors and what the server is doing at the time and so forth, so no detailed reports on that. The Seagate drive has been running 24/7 on my server for about a month now and not a single issue with it so far. The shorter height is interesting as it lets more air from the front facing fans pass between it and the drive above it, so that is a plus I suppose. If this drive holds up for 6+ months I will probably replace more of my server drives with Seagate drives. I have 2 other server drives coming on replacement time in near while, so I will be purchasing at least a couple more of these as they go on sale from time to time.I will need to compare the longevity of the Seagate drives with the WD drives. I’ve had good luck with WD up until about a year ago. Now, their drives do not seem to be of the quality that they once were. I get a lot of errors on some WD drives sooner than expected. Hopefully these Seagate drives fair better.Anyhow, so far so good.——————————————–UPDATE 15AUG2025——————————————–So, a 4TB WD RED PLUS drive in my server went bad. The drive is 4 month old. It started about a week ago with some Sector Reallocation errors, then more errors over the days… then hundreds of bad sectors. I couldn’t write data to the drive anymore, then the server kicked out the drive and refuses to start it up. I pulled the drive and tested on my PC… yeah, the drive is going bad, and it is going bad fast. I formatted it, put it back in the server (to trick the server into thinking it was a new drive), it rebuilt the data (after about 10 hours or so), and all seemed fine. But, soon after (within hours), it started acting up again. Definitely a bad drive.I can read data from it, but writing to it is challenging as it triggers a cascade of sector errors. Had to call WD today and RMA the drive… now I have to pack it up and ship it at my expense to get a replacement. Honestly, it’s probably not worth it. I do not want another new WD drive in my server. I’ll probably put in on light duty on one of the kids PCs or something instead. WD’s quality has fallen into the toilet, and this new drive I will get from them will probably be another bomb waiting to happen. You know sticking in a new replacement into the server and waiting 10 to 12 hours for the data to rebuild is not particularly fun.WD I am not impressed in the slightest. This is particularly bad since this was a BRAND NEW RED PLUS drive. I not long ago replaced another WD drive with a Seagate. A brand new WD Red Plus….. and sitting next to it is a 5 year old WD Blue purring away happily without complaint… WOW! What happened to WD?!?!?! I have a 7 year old WD Green (they don’t even make them anymore) that still works fine… and a new RED Plus can’t make it past 4 months. Amazing. I even have a WD Blue that is years and years old in my security camera DRV/NVR recording 24/7… never has an issue…WD used to make good product. They are garbage now in my opinion.So, guess what I ordered as a replacement for the RED PLUS? Yep, I ordered a Seagate Ironwolf… even though WD is giving me a replacement (which you have to wait weeks and weeks for), I am paying for another Seagate to replace it with. The Red Plus will never see the inside of my server as I do not need the aggravation.It might be a long long long time before I ever order another WD drive again. Not until they sort out their quality again. My advice is to stay away from WD drives…. it is hit and miss with them. It is like playing Russian roulette with your data.So, we are down to two players left in the HDD world; Seagate and Toshiba. But, for now I am happy with Seagate.——————————————–UPDATE 06OCT2025——————————————–I did finally receive the replacement WD RED Drive. WD sent me a white label drive instead of a RED label drive. It’s basically the same drive but it has a label that looks like some printed on a thermal printer type label that they must issue when doing replacements or something. I didn’t put it in my server. Instead, I have replaced 4 drives in my server with Seagate drives now. I even replaced my parity drive with a Seagate at this point, since it was a WD and started giving SMART warnings as well. So, the UNRAID server is almost entirely Seagate drives now and everything is running happy and smooth.The LSA HBA card has no issues with these drives at all and UNRAID sees them as normal SATA drives (normal as if they were connected to the motherboard directly)… just in case there are any UNRAIDers out there considering a LSA HBA card… I used a 9300 16i that was already in IT mode… zero issue with it with UNRAID… plug and play literally, the drivers come up automatically during boot.Anyway, the Seagate drives have been awesome so far.

I ordered two of these drives (ST12000NT001). They work very well and are very quiet in a be quiet 802. They do not have the 5-second click that I read WD Black drives have.Unfortunately, one of them died (post-return date). I have spent many hours working with Seagate to get a replacement drive. They have kept trying to send me an IronWolf (non-Pro) drive (ST12000VN0008). I received the first drive and was ready to send it back, but they tried to send another non-Pro drive.Apparently, they are out of stock, so their system wants to downgrade my drive. I even mentioned that Amazon has them in stock if they want to buy one for me. :)It is a great drive when it works, but the return system is rather lacking which can play into the decision to purchase future drives. The people I have spoken with via the support bot have been very nice. The down side is that the system wants to give me a lesser model. If you need to return yours, watch carefully on what the replacement is.Report Card (if Amazon allowed split scores):- Drive: A (when it works)- Support staff: A (very polite and helpful but a bit uninformed by Seagate on how to handle odd cases)- Support system: F (Seagate *really* needs to fix its process, so the correct drive is sent in the first place)Update (2024/2/29): Seagate still cannot find a replacement IronWolf Pro drive to send me. I am now dropping my rating here from three to two stars.Update (2024/4/1): It continues. Seagate sent me another incorrect drive. I am currently speaking with support. The best they can do is find an NE001 model even though they have the NT001 models in stock at Amazon and Seagate. They say they can only provide Factory Certified and not new drives under warranty. However, they had plenty of time to refurbish the drive I sent them. I know they cannot just send me back the same drive, but I am very frustrated. Knocking the review down to one star. I doubt I will buy another Seagate drive at this point. It is too much hassle.Update (2024/6/19): A bunch more back and forth has happened. I received another incorrect drive. There was confusion on the status of my RMA. Some thought it was finished probably due to how long the information in the ticket was. Finally, I got in touch with a support person that was able to find the right group above her to handle it. They told me, via her, to keep the incorrect drive, and they would send a new drive. Well, it was another refurbished drive, which is what I expected at the beginning of this, yet it was the correct drive. Checking the warranty on the drive showed it to be only a few months, so I had to contact support again to rectify it. At first, they bumped it to three years. He had me check their site to verify it was correct but was quick to fix it to five years. Seagate should make their own drives easier to differentiate if even their own support can be confused. My head hurts. :)At long last, I have the correct replacement drive. It only took 4 months. Ugh!Update (2024/7/5): Three weeks. That is how long the replacement drive lasted before it crashed.Update (2024/7/30): Not as much difficulty this time, although spent hours on it, another replacement drive is on its way.Update (2024/8/5): The replacement drive was DOA. Bought a 2 pack to facilitate the transfer of music and picture files between Windows laptop and Iphone 15. Good speed and seems to work well, however, the type c isn’t quite long enough to insert into the phone port with the phone cover, so I need to remove that before using it.The 2nd of two in the pack gave me a warning when plugged into the PC USB port and a Norton scan said this brand new drive already contained 67 files in 5 directories, none of which showed up in the directory of same. Works anyway with no issues for my purpose.

Really like that his is both USB-A and C. My phone recently died. I was able to pull most of my data off before it died completely, except for my music library. Used the USB A to pull my music off my PC. Plugged the USB C into the phone and was done. Build quality seems very good and while I didn’t actually clock the Read/Write speeds, iIve been around PCs enough to have a gut feel for a slow drive and this was not slow.Its a good fast flash drive at a decent price. I’m sure there will be some better deals on Black Friday but I needed this one yesterday. Very satisfied with this purchase.

I have dozens of USB flash drives from many name brands. I recently purchased a 128 GB flash drive from a name brand that claimed to be fast. And it is fast, at least on reads. The stats on this Amazon Basics drive seemed too good to be true, and for the price, it was worth a try.While one read score was slightly slower than the name brand, every other score was faster, and in some cases MUCH faster. Look at the write speeds in the two images. The faster ones are this Amazon Basics drive at close to 10x faster in some cases! And the Amazon Basics drive can interface with USB-C or USB-A, the name brand one I have is only USB-C (and as I mentioned, more money). This is by far my new go to flash drive. The speed is crazy good.I have only had it for a couple weeks so cannot speak to longevity. Although I have used it quite a bit during that time and all is great so far.

I bought this after I saw that Snapchat was going to start charging for storage. I already pay for iCloud and there’s always a chance those will disappear eventually.I read the description, and it said IOS so I bought it. Tons of room for pictures. When it arrived I was eager to start preserving my photos and clearing up space.I plugged it in assuming it may vibrate or show some kind of notification that there’s something in the port. The instructions are useless, so rest assured, I am hoping if someone is in the same boat I was then potentially they do what I did and start searching reviews for help. I had only found one review about IPhone compatibility and it said DOESNT WORK ONE STAR and I was getting nervous I wasted my money.Here’s how you move the pictures. It shows up as “Public” as a folder in your files. I renamed mine to “Jump drive” because that’s easy. Go to pictures. Go to select. I recommend keeping the number under 100 pictures or it was a while. Choose your options dropdown. Save to files. Then all your folders will come up and save them to the jump drive folder there. Wait for them to save. Repeat.I am going to play around with different way to do this efficiently because I have 1500 photos and probably just as much on Snapchat. But trust me it DOES WORK WITH IPHONE. You just have to know what to look for.I hope this helps someone!

Excellent value for the money, and a good design. One issue- it is a bit wide for MacBooks , although it can be inserted with pressure. the problem here is that by exerting that pressure, it expands the Mac connection opening just a bit- but enough that may render the the opening unusable over time. It fits perfectly in a PC, and lightning connector works in an iPhone or Android.2 connectors in one with adequate storage.

i have an addiction to jump drives. they are perfect for moving files from one computer to the next. this 256gb is a nice chunky drive. it also works great for putting music on for when i have to dog sit for my brother. i can put a whole playlist on it without taking up drive space. its fairly fast but speeds vary. if you use the USB-C plug it will be a lot faster than if you use the USB-A side. either way it was well worth the money. Trust me you can never have enough flash drives, oh and its uber durable as its made out of metal. it even has a loop to attach a lanyard.

Easy to use, got all my files from my old PC loaded on it so now I am ready for my new Pc. I do wish it had a way to protect both sides.

Samsung has it going with their drives, nearly every Samsung SSD or NVMe I’ve owned lasted well past it’s designed life and usually keeps going until it’s obsolete, this NVMe drive is fast, runs cool (usually between 30-50c, or 40-45c with heat sink), so far it seems durable & stable for the long haul (hopefully) and is backed by a 5-year warranty, I believe the write capacity is 1,200 TBW for the 2gb, which is plenty if you just write a game to it occasionally or store files that just sit there forever, but it should also have no problem handling active files and daily writes without too much impact.I was deciding this one, or the WB_Black series, but the Samsung has a bunch of features not found in many other brands, for example security features (automatic encryption (SED), TClass 0 (AES 256), TCG/Opal v2.0, MS eDrive (IEEE1667)) encryption, typically these features were in the pro models, but it was nice to see them trickle down to the plus line, all these features are important to me for data security, plus these drives are fast, support firmware updates, and can take advantage of ‘over provisioning’ to increase life of the drive even further.Going forward, I have recently decided to get NVMe drives now over conventional mechanical hard drives which in recent years seem to be made cheaply and have less and less warranty, where with NVMe storage size is getting comparable with 2-4 TB range, just large enough where a failure won’t be too impactful (compared to a large 12-20 gig hard drive), not to mention the data speeds with NVMe is off the charts making backups a breeze, the small compact size and portable nature is also really nice as-well toss it in an enclosure and use it anywhere.Overall I highly recommend, drives are easy to install and compatible with a wide range of systems PCIe 2.0-5.0 (speed varies with PCIe generation), if your motherboard doesn’t offer a built-in slot, PCI-E adapters or USB 3 enclosures are available if needed, of course if anything happens with this drive I will update my review but so far no issues.
