I needed this album as I step into 2025 with a sweet reminder of my roots that made me the Latina I am today. The beats and instruments flow through this album for me as each song melts into the next. I can close my eyes and see the images of my great grandparents dancing together; images I only know through stories passed down to me from past generations.

This is his best album yet. The music is moving and is quite deep. He is making statements left and right here that take many listens to really get the meaning of. Just an incredible album from an incredible artist.

My Favorite Album ????

Most people buying this album already know what a gem it is, so speaking to the vinyl I will say that it is an excellent sonic experience of a delightful album. I prefer this recording over my CD version of the album. Viewing the video of the same title adds a wonderful new human and personal layer to the listening experience.

Great CD, don’t miss it. A great Ry Cooder collaboration. This has since received much recognition. Super old-timers getting it done!

Awesome AlbumThe Buena Vista Social Club was a members club in Havana, Cuba that held dances and musical activities, becoming a popular location for musicians to meet and play during the 1940s. In the 1990s, nearly 50 years after the club was closed, it inspired a recording made by Cuban musician Juan de Marcos González and American guitarist Ry Cooder with traditional Cuban musicians, some of whom were veterans who had performed at the club during the height of its popularity.The recording, named Buena Vista Social Club after the Havana institution, became an international success, and the ensemble was encouraged to perform with a full line-up in Amsterdam in 1998. German director Wim Wenders captured the performance on film, followed by a second concert in Carnegie Hall, New York City for a documentary that included interviews with the musicians conducted in Havana. Wenders’s film, also called Buena Vista Social Club, was released to critical acclaim, receiving an Academy Award nomination for Best Documentary feature and winning numerous accolades including Best Documentary at the European Film Awards.The success of both the album and film sparked a revival of international interest in traditional Cuban music and Latin American music in general. Some of the Cuban performers later released well-received solo albums and recorded collaborations with international stars from different musical genres. The “Buena Vista Social Club” name became an umbrella term to describe these performances and releases, and has been likened to a brand label that encapsulates Cuba’s “musical golden age” between the 1930s and 1950s. I’ve known about this CD for quite some time but never decided to pick it up – until now, kind of seeing it as an outlier to my already large jazz collection.I’m glad I did because even though the vocals are in Spanish, ( Cuban artists ) the tempo and sounds are electric, mesmerizing even.You can almost put yourself there with them and Ry Cooder for a bonus.Took a small risk but the payoff is big! Get this one and enjoy this cultural soundtrack of the Cuban people.

I COMPARED THIS CD SOUND QUALITY TO MY ORIGINAL CD, AND THE DIFFERENCE IS LIKE IT WAS RERECORDED! The 30th Ann. cd has added vocals in the background, before it was 2 men, now it has a female, added keyboards, cumbia maracas, accordion, newer guitar sound, by her husband Chris. Selena’s vocals are also elevated it has a fresh new sound with amazing quality.

The vinyl is beautiful and it’s the 30th anniversary I bought it on Amazon us bound for Spain and it arrived perfect, in Spain it’s impossible to find Selena vinyls so I’m very happy

Un buen producto. Con calidad de sonido de acuerdo a lo esperado

Not sure why others have complained about sound quality; it sounds pristine on my setup, which is a Technics SL-100C turntable with a Ortofon Quintet Blue MC cartridge. Connected to a Schiit Skoll preamp. Sounds clean. As far as volume, it might be a tad low compared to other albums but the difference is barely noticeable. The record has a slight warp, but again is negligible; no different from records I’ve bought at the local shop or online from Discogs. It arrived in a massively oversized box with no damage. If you want some Bob Marley in your collection but don’t want his entire discography, this is a great album to own. I’d recommend it.

Bob Marley made several great albums in his career and was probably the most influential Reggae Artist ever to Europen and American Musicians. His albums are still very popular and Loved by many. I became a instant Fan after hearing The song “Jamming” from the EXODUS album. This entire album is excellent all the way through. In my opinion it’s his Best output. What’s a real shame though is Bob was making such great music at the time of his death. I will always remember him as the person who put Reggae on the Map in America. You can hear his influences in many artists music. The Police for one and also many other Euopean bands.

My husband and I saw the movie about Bob Marley and enjoyed it. So, I purchased the Exodus vinyl album for him since we both like the music, and he was surprised and delighted by the quality of the recording. Very good purchase.

Great album, had no issues with the record itself. Great place to start as it has 5 of his biggest hits, at least in america, and you get a sampling of his more political and serious side which is often forgotten I feel. If you’re burnt out on hearing the singles on the radio or whatnot I would start with burnin, catch a fire or natty dread.

I was glad to see that it did not get damaged during transit due to its great packaging that supported the vinyl. This vinyl was also such a great release by Mon Laferte, it got here pretty quickly, and it was pretty nice to hear it through vinyl!

Mon Laferte’s lyricism and music originality is hard to match in the Latin indie music industry. Femme Fatale is yet another prime example of her genius and musical range. Quite a radical departure from Autopoiética, Femme Fatale goes back to basics. With deep, meaningful lyrics pared with exquisite female vocal jazz vibes, Femme Fatale is something she could easily perform at a jazz bar in NYC, as well as, at the Carnegie Hall. It is a narrative that pairs well with a Manhattan and a cigarette. Another hit for MonLa.
