    The 3rd gen Nest is a winner and I have have four of them now This latest was a renewed unit and it works flawlessly. The 4th gen Nest I recently purchased new and I have returned it. Many many issues.If Google breaks the 3rd gen like they did the 1st and 2nd gen by not making it compatible with the Nest App (and like they also did with 4th gen by not making it Nest App compatible right out of the gate) then all four of my 3rd gen’s are going in the garbage can and I’ll purchase 4 new Ecobees. As it stands now the 3rd gen Nest with its Nest App compatibility is the only thing keeping me around.PS Google Home really sucks

  • More Trouble Than It’s Worth
    ***Sorry for the long story*** This review has nothing to do with the product itself….well then again maybe it does. I bought this as an extension because there are multiple zones in my home, one of which is extremely warm while the others are cooled perfectly. When I inquired about the temperature difference, the HVAC technician told me there was nothing wrong with my AC unit I just needed another thermostat and said all I had to do, and I quote, was buy one and stick it onto the wall. Me not being handy at all thought literally that is all that was involved. I bought it and took it out of the box, again, thinking it was that easy to install and found out that it wasn’t just battery operated and it needed to be connected to wiring. So looking at the instructions, it gave me a link (g.co/nest/install) which connected me to a sham of a company SafeStreets and the price would be about $135. This literature I got from INSIDE the box and I had to open it to get to the instructions. I ask them to schedule someone to come to do an install and then she asks me where I purchased the product from. I tell her that I bought it from Amazon. She asked me if I took it out the box and tried to install it. I told her I did take it out of the box but I did not try to install it because I saw that it was more complicated than I was able to do.She then tells me that she could schedule an install for me but because I took it out of the box AND because I did not get it directly from the Google store that it would be $435!!! I told her that first, I would not have had the information to contact her if I had not taken it out of the box and secondly, it is a legitimate Nest/Google product. Mind you, the same product was over double what I paid on Amazon. When pressed for a sensible justification as to why it was over $300 more for the install JUST based on where I bought it from, I was not and still have not been given a legitimate explanation. So now, I am stuck with this thing or I can return it and pay double what it costs on the Google store and would still have to end up dealing with shady SafeStreets company. I am BEYOND PISSED because nowhere in the literature does it say that there will be a difference in the installation price just because I had the audacity not to want to pay double for it on the Google Store website. I swear this makes me want to return to the old-shool thermostat I had before, and after I locate a reasonable electrician I just might do that. If you are not going to install this yourself do NOT open the box and do NOT tell the company that you got it from Amazon. Go to g.co/nest/install to schedule an install and if they ask you where you got it from, tell them the Google Store and again do not open the box until the technician gets there. Otherwise they will try to charge you over $400 for the exact same install they would charge you $135 if you got it from Google.

    Love the rest of operation and especially the ability of being able to control the thermostat when I’m away from home.
  • Nest, in my opinion, works better than ecobee.
    Easy to install, even if you have an ecobee or other thermostat. The quality seems solid, as was true with previous generations. Still get the leaf reports, but, the whole google integration (if you’re an Alexa or Siri household) is a bit annoying. Oh well, I knew that going in but, the Nest is much better at controlling the temperature in my house than the ecobee ever was. Glad I replaced it!
  • Great product, but the refurb takes extra steps to set up.
    I bought this for the price, it was a refurb but that was the deal.It arrived in a new box, clean with all the parts.It was physically installed perfectly with no problems.However, it would not connect to the app and it took me a week to figure it out. I would scan the QR code and nothing would happen, then I would type in the 6-digit code, and still nothing. Then I did the factory reset a few times and still nothing.This is what I did to make it work on the app.1) Install the t-stat and verify it works as a standalone t-stat.2) DL the app and set up your account, then go to home.nest.com and log into your account.3) On the T-stat go to settings and reset to the factory defaults.4) On the T-stat go to settings and reset the WWN connection. You might think this redundant after the factory default reset but do it anyway.5) After the WWN reset it will give you a seven-digit entry key, for example, 123-ABCD, Write this down or take a pic. (Note the app will only let you type in a six-digit code, so you have to go to the website to enter the longer key.6) Go to settings and under connection put in your network and password and make sure the t-stat is connected to the internet.7) Go to the home.nest.com website, and after you are logged in look for an “add product (PLUS)”, click it, and follow the prompts. You will get to a screen that wants the seven-digit key, type that in without the dash.8) Then it will add the t-stat to your app for you.

    I bought two of these for our building at work. Both of them did not work. I called the Nest tech support. They couldn’t fix it so they sent me two new ones to replace these two pieces of garbage. The two new ones that they sent me did not work either! Again, I shipped them back. I don’t even want them anymore at this point, but let’s see when they send two more to me if those work at all.

    When you want easy, smart control of your thermometer then this is the one I recommend. Easy to install, easy to setup to your phone with the app, easy to control with Alexa, lots of support online. Looks good on the wall and functions perfectly. Other than the battery life of the provide battery, everything else has been great.

    I purchased this Nest device to replace my existing programmable thermostat. This was an Amazon renewed item and as such I knew that it may not have all the OEM items. It arrived without printed instructions, but if you have installed one thermostat you have basically installed them all. I also got the back plate for it. Took about 10 minutes to install and have the thermostat integrated onto my WiFi. Just for giggles I went online and took a look at the instructions. They are by far the best and most complete set of directions I have seen in a long time. Thats why the 5 stars on Tech Support. Not a real fan of the mirrored finish, buy cheap and you don’t get to pick. Works very well on the Home App, not so much on the touch controls. I spent a lot of time looking at various brands and models, happy I landed on this one.

    I purchased five Google Nest Thermostats (Snow, Renewed) units for about $68 each, and I quickly realized why they were so inexpensive. As someone who has worked with and trained people in technology for decades, I was shocked at how far Google has allowed this product line to fall.1. Smaller Size = Forced Extra CostsThese mirror-faced thermostats are smaller in diameter than the original Nest models. That means:* You must buy an aftermarket trim ring (~$15), or* Repair and repaint your wall.This is a basic design failure. Who approves a redesign that breaks compatibility with existing installations — especially when Google has already announced that Gen 2 Nest thermostats lose support on 2025-10-25? Dumb a$$es do this.2. Forced Energy-Saving Features You Can’t Truly DisableThese cheaper units aggressively enforce Google’s “save energy” behaviors:If the thermostat detects that no one is home, it adjusts the temperature on its own.Turning off “Eco When Away” in the Google Home app doesn’t stick.     I’ve got these in my home am able to control and monitor both ends of house. Set up with Alexa which allows my mother in law to tell the system to change temperature. Great little feature especially for the elderly. The display is bright and large for her to see from a distance. My wife and I use the app to control. Would definitely by again. Plus the rebate from power company make this a no brainer.

    This thermostat will not integrate with the Nest App, very disappointing. When you try to install this device you are directed to the Google home app. My goal was to have all of my Nest devices available in one app. This unfortunately is not an option.Its a Google/Next product so it works fine, easy to set up, if you use the correct app, just wish it was more clear that “smart thermostats” are not compatible with app using “learning thermostats”.

  • Lightweight and Maneuverable!
    I was looking for a lightweight vacuum to keep upstairs and the battery powered ones I tried didn’t last the time I needed. I found this corded Shark that had been refurbished and I was leary. I never buy used items, except a car once years ago. This one had great reviews so I decided to give it a try. It is my first Shark. I was hoping I wouldn’t get a beat up one and ordered the 3 year protection plan, just in case. It came carefully packaged in a Shark box. I could see a small dent on the metal tube but the attachments looked brand-new and it was clean. One of the reviewers said the mainpole was too long for them and couldn’t be shortened. The length did not affect me, and I am only 5’1″. As soon as it was assembled I put it through its paces. On my laminate flooring in the kitchen, breakfast room, powder room and laundry room, it maneuvered easily around chair legs, under cabinets and in the space next to the toilet, where my larger vacuum doesn’t fit. I have waterhog mats at all our house entrances. This vac easily picked up the bits of dirt, dust, pet hair, sand, shavings (I have horses and a barn) that accumulate there. It didn’t matter if I used the carpet or hard floor setting. It still picked up the grit either way. The rest of the house is carpeted with medium pile carpet that is old. On the carpet setting the vacuum pulls itself along making moving it easy. Pulling it back to me took more effort, but was doable, and I am 73. If I went too fast the vac’s head would slightly lift off the carpet on the back stroke because it has good suction. To remedy this, I just put my free hand lightly on the pole to keep the vac’s head on the carpet.(This isn’t an issue on hard flooring.) This vac picked up the nap on our older carpeting which is a plus! I did not mind cleaning the vacuum. The cup isn’t huge and at first I could see it quickly fill up with not just pet hair (we have a shedding dog and two fluffy cats that live inside.) but dust and grit from way down deep in my old carpeting. I know this because I vacuum weekly with our German made central vac that I thought was getting everything. I am vacuuming a lot more frequently with this Shark since it is so easy to set up. I think that with repeated vacuuming the dust cup won’t need to be emptied as frequently. I do like the way the dust,dirt and hair easily drops out of the dust cup into the trash when I push the button. (I sent one cordless back because the dust and hair wound around the filter and I had to use my fingers to remove it so it would empty into the trash. Not fun.) Compared to my central vac this is a snap to set up. No long hose to drag around. It is light and easy for me to carry up and down the stairs. So far I keep it downstairs and it easily fits in our laundry room closet leaning against the wall. It doesn’t stand up on its own but that isn’t an issue for me. I can lean it against something or lay it on the floor. The light weight and maneuverability make it easy for me to use. There are some cons. The cord is about 25 feet long so it isn’t quite long enough to reach as far as needed. A 30 foot cord would be ideal. Although opening the dirt cup is easy by pushing a button, I was not sent any replacement filters. The directions say to change/clean them monthly. Hoping I am able to easily find the filters online. It would be nice to have a new set included. The switch that changes from hard flooring to carpeting sometimes sticks and has to be pushed several times. I hope this is not a weak point that may fail in the future. I discovered that Shark has so many new models that it was difficult to choose one. For now I am happy with my selection since I was able to buy this refurbished vac for less than $100 including the 3 year protection plan with free shipping. I think that in a two story home with four bedrooms more than one vacuum is needed. As I’ve aged, I find I am more apt to clean if it is convenient. I still love my central vac for heavy duty cleaning and my cordless for quick clean ups in small areas. But this corded Shark is doing a great job of cleaning upstairs (fits under the beds easily) and downstairs, including on the carpeted stairs, my least favorite place to clean. So this is my honest review of the shark refurbished UV580 extra light corded stick vacuum. Oh, and no hair wrap noticed either.
  • It’s almost perfect
    The media could not be loaded. I’ve had this for a month and Ill come back and update as time goes on but I thought I had a good vacuum until this baby. I had a Bissell pet swivel pro. It was close to 300 bucks and it apparently sucked. Immediately the power difference was obvious. My goal was a lightweight vacuum I wouldn’t mind lugging up and down stairs, a small vacuum that could fit under beds, couches, and in crevices, and all that corded so I didn’t have to remember to charge my vacuum and somehow schedule toddler and cat litter messes so I can make sure it’s charged (not happening). This does all that and more. It has a light I never knew I needed. It turns into a small handheld vacuum cleaner for countertops, tables, and beds and an extended handheld for cars, bed sides when your bed is against the wall, behind the toilet, idk just anything.Now for cons. It doesn’t stand on its own which you don’t realize you miss until you miss it. It can be too strong which is a pro and a con. You can’t vacuum flimsy rugs basically but you can use the extended handheld and brush attachment and do a vacuum sweep. All of my flimsy rugs can also be washed too though so it doesn’t really bother me. The pedal that separates the base from the handheld can get caught on things sometimes when you’re cleaning under stuff. Not often but it can happen. The hooks built in can get caught on things too like cords which sucks when you have controller cords stretched across your living room btw. Suck up too big of paper or something and it can’t go into the 2nd compartment. What I mean is the trash compartment has 2 sides and one of them seals the trash away so it can’t spill back out which is needed for handheld but if you suck up say a small chip bag it won’t make it to the 2nd compartment and it can prevent crumbs from making it there too. This isn’t that much of a problem but it can mean crumbs spill out when you go to empty it. Those are my only complaints thus far.In conclusion, get it.

Thicker carpets are all rightwith it.I like that everything was in good shape andthe attachments fit well on the vacuum andlooked new.I found that the rollers looked new.I like that the hair does not get caught on therollers.The soft brush picks up the dust off the floorvery well.I like the the quality of the vacuum.I think the value was ok.I have enclosed pictures so you can make aninformed decision based on your own personalneeds.Yes, I would recommend this product.
  • No accessories clip included. Why?
    For some reason the accessory clip is not provided, so you end up with accessories stored somewhere else, probably lost in a drawer. I requested a clip when the first unit arrived and was told to initiated a return. OK, that’s a pain, but whatever. When the second unit arrived without the clip I just couldn’t believe it. Stupid.But the vacuumed is great, which is why I wanted it.

    After using this refurbished vacuum for the first time today while cleaning an air BnB, I can honestly say that so far I’m very satisfied with it. I do a LOT of vacuuming & clean a LOT of Air BnB’s. The suction is wonderful, it’s lightweight and easy to carry. I’ve purchased a few of the Shark stick vacuum model HZ3002 and the Shark brand is my favorite go-to when it comes to ease of use and maneuverability. Although there’s a difference between the HZ3002 filters and this one, the UV580, the attachments are perfectly interchangeable between the two models. Having backup vacuums during the time I’m performing cleaning maintenance on another, is so helpful!Purchasing another UV580 very soon!

    Very Good Cooling. Strong Fan with Quiet Compressor. The only drawback is that the unit is advertised with a Remote Control, but it does not come with one. It is a Manual Control Unit, and there is no way to add one. I really needed a remote control as I am disabled and my window is a long way from the bed, and now I have to go all the way to the unit to adjust it, in a WHEELCHAIR. I would return the unit, but I don’t have the money to pay the handyman to take the unit out and return it to FedEx. I just got screwed, again. False Advertising !!

  • It’s a tough tool for light weight concrete work
    Great little tool. Will handle veneer concrete up to 1-2″. Variable speed is a plus. I’ve recently used it to chip and bust through buried concrete chunks for a fence job while digging post holes. It performed well and got that job done. I was not particularly gentle with it either, and a lot of cussing was involved. But it held up and delivered suitable power for a relatively lightweight tool. Would recommend at it’s price point.

    I purchased this tool for a single project, working on our new front porch. The design calls for 12 3/8″ holes to be bored into a 15-year-old concrete slab for mounting strike anchors. So far I’ve drilled four of the holes, and I must say that this tool has turned what I was expecting to be a real fight into a pleasure.Prior to this, my only experience with drilling masonry was an attempt two years ago to mount a door stop into a freshly-laid tile-over-slab floor. I managed that installation with a quarter-inch impact-rated masonry bit, the hammer drill setting on my Milwaukee cordless drill, and a great display of stubbornness. Boring the inch-deep hole took nearly ten minutes, and totally destroyed the masonry bit. As you can imagine, when this project came up and demanded TWELVE holes of half again the diameter and four times the depth, I decided that some better tooling was on the list. This Bosch DELIVERED.Each hole took perhaps twenty seconds to drill into the aged concrete, using a 10″ Bosch bit purchased from a local big-box store, and the bit looked as good at the end of the four as it did at the beginning. After brushing off the dust, you’d never know it had been used at all.A few closing notes:1: Wear ear plugs, this is a LOUD tool.2: I vastly over-purchased for the job, but in this case overkill makes the project EASY.3: This reconditioned tool looks new. There was a very slight amount of concrete dust on it, and it came in a ‘reconditioned’ cardboard box instead of the normal one. If it had been in a normal box, I would never have even noticed it wasn’t brand new from the factory. A heck of a deal!UPDATE – 02/16/11I’ve used the tool several more times since I wrote the review. I drilled ten more 1/4″ holes in a second slab of the same age as the first, to a depth of two inches (using the stop rod) to install floor anchors for some trim strips in our lower level. As before, performance was smooth, powerful, effective and loud. I have another project coming in the following months (installing a gate and post adjacent to a concrete retaining wall) that will require additional drilling, this seems to be the kind of tool that possession ends up breeding ideas for its use!UPDATE – 01/07/16Just used it again, this time to drill four very small-diameter holes with a Tapcon-branded bit, to hold down a new doorjam in the shop with (surprise) tapcons. Worked great, still just as awesome and as noisy as ever. Drilled two inches deep into fifteen-year-old concrete in a matter of just a couple seconds.

    I started a retaining wall project in July in an area with hard pan/clay. This makes breaking up the clay an absolute breeze! I should have bought this years ago.

    The media could not be loaded. I don’t ever write reviews, but this thing warrants one. Packs a mean damn punch. I’ve been removing massive cement tiles from my pool deck (don’t know why they are there to begin with) but getting the remaining grout off is the next step and this thing makes it a cake walk.

Own a corded unit which works fine, but I kept getting cord tangled or stopping up against the end of the cord, especially in tight spots. The day it was delivered, I needed such a unit for an unexpected repair–in tight corners. I can’t say this unit performed better than the corded would have, but handling it was easier, more convenient. It was money very well spent. I have used other “renewed/reconditioned” tools over the years with varied results. No complaint on this one.

    I am going to give an honest review, so far, about these cameras and the condition they were received as this was an Amazon renewed product.To start with, for the price paid these cameras were a steal. 2 Pan tilt cameras for $56, yes they are from the renewed store but the packages i received were original box, with the original mounting bracket and hardware, screws with anchors, a little instruction pamphlet, an Amazon renewed pamphlet, there was a plastic film over the lens. All in the original packaging.Ok. So as far as renewed or refurbished, these in my opinion are basically brand new cameras. Not a scratch on them, all OEM hardware in the original box.Regarding the Wyze cameras, the Wyze ecosystem, the fact that i can use an SD card to store video locally and not need to use a paid subscription, i do use the 2.99 / month / camera cloud so i can have live recorded instant replay of motion or sounds, maybe i could do that all free but i like the app and the convenience. So that’s a no breather to me

    I did not select refurbished but it is. Which dose not take away from function. You might have to figure out how to put in and remove attachments but it’s a pretty simple mechanism.

    This was something that my husband just needed to absolutely get! The reason he wanted it in our old home (we had in our last home) was because you set the temperature to stay between 68-72 for example. There’s a lot of thermostats that don’t do that so it was super cool to get it in our home again. It works best for us honestly. It’s a great schedule system too and we can access it through our phone which we really value. Sleek design too.

This works well with the WIFI and the HVAC equipment, Setup was a bit of a problem however with a little bit of persistence I was able to get it working. Having this level of automation and long distance access is well worth the price of the thermostat. Connection the C wire is a performance must these controls. The Nest thermostat operates great with the Google Home App.

    I gave it four stars because I am still learning about this it works fine it tells me the humidity in the home and it has different settings and what I like is you can change it from your cell phone if you need to make it cooler make it warmer turn it off. But I don’t know if it saved me any money yet. So we’ll see

    My old thermostat broke so I figured it was time for an upgrade. I called around and most companies wanted a few hundred to come out, so I figured I’ll try it myself. This thermostat is very easy to install and links to your phone. Plus I hear it can save you money over the old ones.
