    I remove snow for a living part of the year, and this thing is a back saver! I actually show it off because it works so well, and so easily. Just be aware of the sizes- biggest isn’t necessarily the best. We can get wet heavy snow, and you DO NOT want too large a blade for that stuff.

    This is my third purchase of this shovel. My only criticism is that the edge piece that is attached to the blade of the shovel comes off easily. Once it comes off I throw it away and use the shovel without it because it will keep coming off.

  • My SJ-SHLV02 Shovel Broke – Snow Joe replaced it
    If you don’t know this already, Snow Joe has a 2 year manufacturer’s warranty behind their products, even the shovels. MAKE SURE YOU REGISTER your shovel on Snow Joe’s website to not run into the problem I had getting support.Background: Have purchased a snowblower, extra batteries, and a different shovel SJ-SHLV01-RED in additional to this one SJ-SHLV02 from SnowJoe either from Amazon or from their website. Both shovels that I use from Amazon are great, but this SJ-SHLV02 is superior(NOPE, changed my mind, see UPDATE below). In addition to the strength and throwing capabilities they both give, this one can scrape under to pick up near frozen snow and sometimes ice.I had no problems with anything until yesterday when my SJ-SHLV02 broke. I don’t even know exactly when it happened because the blade initially got a small triangular hole in it near the handle stem, but it kept working with a little snow “leaking” through the blade. I don’t THINK I was being too rough with it, but this thing seems to give the strength of several people when really using it, and it was that sense of unstoppable scraping and lifting that probably did it in. We’ve had our iciest snow in decades in my area (Chicago Area) At 20 degrees F, in typical use with a LOT of heavy snow/ice lifting my blade broke. Took the picture right away, and was still able to use it for another hour in this condition. It’s still looks like this, can scrape under and lift a lot of snow – amazing. I would have(not happily) paid for another one to replace it, because I like it so much.The return: OMG, did I have to be persistent. At first I looked at their website to see what the manufacturer’s warranty was, since I’m almost at 90 days, well past the typical Amazon return window. Shows 2 years, great, I’ll try it out. Called first, gave the model number, described what happened and was told to email a picture of it. Did that. Started to get nice email responses, 1st support ticket generated, new shovel(or part) to be mailed directly to me, no physical return required, also a Warranty Order Number. On that email, notice that the shovel being shipped to me is the older SJ-SHLV01-RED that is my other still working shovel. Respond back to that email(which now generates a 2nd support ticket number) that it’s the wrong shovel. Now I get emails, that the shipment is cancelled, and that my shovel is not registered. Respond back with a .pdf of my Amazon receipt from less than 90 days ago and get no reply. I try to register this shovel on their website, but cannot because there is no serial number on the shovel itself. Next, I start a chat session and to make it quicker give the initial issue, references to the 2 previous support tickets, and a request to get my shovel registered. Get asked for serial number, told it’s on the blade – it isn’t, or at least isn’t anymore from using it. The person on chat asked for my Amazon Invoice Number, (same as provided via email previously) and now my shovel gets registered on-line (I can see it on their website under my account) AND they are shipping a replacement to me. It took me over an hour to do this. Do yourself a favor, either VERIFY that your shovel gets registered on SnowJoe’s website(like my first one did automatically after ordering from Amazon) OR get it registered right away(unlike my second shovel shovel which didn’t get automatically registered from Amazon). Don’t assume like I did.UPDATE: One week later. I received the replacement shovel, however, now I wish I had just gotten the wrong one back instead. I can really appreciate the version that “doesn’t break” vs. the Indestructible version that does. I think it’s the scraper on the bottom that is too good. I have a regular ice scraper for that. I’ll keep the replacement shovel and keep getting a replacement until my warranty runs out in another 21 months. Then will get another non-Poly Carbonite version as my second Snow Joe shovel. Lowered score from 5 to 4 stars.

    Anything EGO is awesome!! They make the best products. I have many EGO machines. I bought this snow blower to complete my 3-snow blower set. I have a gas powered one for thicker snow over 8″ and ice and a smaller 1 battery SKIL unit for my deck only. This one will be used for 8″ or less for my 2 driveways which are 190 feet and 80 feet long. Super quiet and some many features on it. I love it. The turbo mode is awesome!! You can control the speed of the auger. No other snow blower has this feature at this size and weight. I really like the heated handles as well as the control handle to move the snow chute 180 degrees. The two-battery system is perfect for this one. I think it will last run time 1-2 hours. This will be perfect. Since I only need 1 hour to dop both driveways. The size is perfect. The handle is at the perfect height. I love the LED lights as well. Super bright. Overall, I am very impressed with all EGO products as I have many in my line up. The padal is super thick and made very well. Unlike the snow blowers that I have seen, these are so much thicker and better assembled. This unit needed no assembly at all. Just remove it from the box and go. I do like the dual 7.5Ah batteries. There is a lower model with dual 5.0Ah batteries but this is not enough run time for my set up. The performance should be good. I will have to test this out when I get snow in November. I know it will be good; I can tell. Overall, I highly recommend this to anyone. You get what you pay for. I know it cost more than other snow blowers but the quality cannot be beat.
  • Excellent Snow Blower, but Expect Shipping Delays
    This is an excellent snow blower for residential use, and an excellent value for all you receive in the kit. Set-up out of the crate is simple, 4 bolts to attach the upper handle and 1 bolt to attach the discharge chute, each with large knobs for easy tool-free assembly. From unboxing to first use was ~40 minutes. The controls are intuitive and ergonomic, especially if you are familiar with other Ego products (I have the 21″ self-propelled lawn mower). The discharge chute adjustment handles are a bit stiff, but are easy enough to work with a single hand. Importantly, the chute does not wander or change direction during use and can easily be manipulated to put the snow exactly where you want it without having to bend or stop moving.This kit includes (4) 10 AH batteries and (2) turbo chargers; the individual purchase prices of these items alone exceeds the total price of the tool kit. The batteries charged from ~1 bar (~10-20% total capacity) on the turbo chargers in ~1 hour (including time needed to warm the batteries after shipping in single-digit temperatures and cool down time after charging). I used a single 7.5 AH battery (from my lawn mower) for the first use. I cleared ~1/2 of my driveway of 4″ fresh powdery snow, and ~60 yards of sidewalk of ~9-11″ of snow and packed ice (hadn’t been cleared in ~1 week), before tramming the machine around my house to store in a shed. I used lower speed settings on the auger for the driveway, and used higher speed (but not turbo) for most of the sidewalk. I completed all work and still had 1 bar (10-20% total capacity) left on the single 7.5 AH battery. I note that Ego recommends using (2) battery packs when operating this snow blower, and I am quite impressed with the work I got out of a single battery!The driveway and sidewalk are all steep grade, and the self-propel worked extremely well, it never lost grip going up and (very importantly) did not run away from me going down the grade. The aggressive tread on the drive tires bit in deeply in to the snow to propel the unit forward. The variable speed controls and reverse were very easy to use and it is easy to optimize the machine’s movement to the task and operator comfort. This is a heavy machine, which is good for biting into the snow and getting traction, but it doesn’t feel heavy to operate. Turning is accomplished by simply pushing to one side and the machine follows. The machine also freewheels incredibly easy, and the intake chute can be lifted off the ground easily by pushing down on the handles.My only major issue with this purchase was the shipping process. This is a large item, 210 lbs, delivered on a pallet and requiring FedEx freight. Amazon estimated a delivery date within (3) days of purchase (it was listed as a Prime delivery). While I thought that was ambitious, it wasn’t even close. The delivery took (9) calendar days to complete. The Amazon tracking app was of no help and, since FedEx turns over last-mile delivery at the end, their tracking was not much more accurate. For an item of this price, I would expect that not one, but two, companies world-famous for package delivery to have a better system in place to update status of shipping. On the other hand, I cannot say enough nice things about the last-mile delivery service in my area, which were extremely polite, efficient, and courteous. Once the freight arrived, the box showed minor damage and the top was open (the delivery driver warned us of this before he arrived and provided instructions for return if the freight was damaged), but luckily nothing inside was damaged. In general Amazon typically does a really good job with shipping information; however, be prepared for a longer than expected delay in shipping for this oversized freight.

    I live in an area where we get lots of snow some years so being able to easily remove the snow from your driveway and sidewalks is critical to help. Keep them cleared. Typical snow shovels take forever but this large snow pusher is ideal for quickly moving and getting rid of the snow in my driveway and sidewalks. I can shovel my whole driveway and half the time with the snow pusher as compared to a typical snow shovel.

  • Good, light weight, and strong built, but pay attention during assembly.
    Pay attention when installing the handle into the frame. It’s very tight fitting and will feel like it’s all the way in, but won’t be. Best to measure and mark handle for maximum depth in frame. Otherwise bottom screw won’t be going into handle at all. I had to place the frames edge on my decks steps and hit the handle on top with a 10 lb. Sledge hammer on its side. This finally drove the handle in another1-1/2 inches to my mark, so then it was bottomed out.This thing is made of tough plastic,, and it’s light… I think it’s going to be very effective and a go to shovel that will last a long time.
  • Making Light Snow Removal Fun!!
    This is the best snow shovel I have ever bought. Can’t believe I have lived without it!I have a 300’ driveway and was using a snowblower, but when there is only 1-2” of snow it is a pain to get it out and it really doesn’t do a great job of clearing down to the blacktop (definitely used on 3”+!)I purchased the 36” version mainly to see how it coped with clearing ‘light’ snow falls, and test ran it on the driveway which already had tracks of packed snow from when I ran out of gas for the snowblower, so couldn’t clear it properly before having to drive on it. It performed fantastically, cutting into the packed tracks and making short work of clearing the main parking area. For the really hard packed spots, flipping it over and using the angled edge chipped them up with little force. And it was almost fun clearing the entire driveway!!! I look forward to the next light snow fall so I can a) not worry about using a gas-powered machine, b) get some easy exercise, and c) clear my driveway in less time than it takes using the snowblower!! Great product, and very happy I purchased!

    I’m 69, and I’ve recently found myself mostly responsible for removing the snow from the sidewalks in a 12 unit senior complex in northern Oklahoma. After reading many reviews of the Snowplow, I decided on the 36″ snow pusher model, which has turned out to be PERFECT for my needs. I think 48″ would have been a bit too much for me to handle, both size wise for maneuverability, but also for the amount of snow it would be able to push.The 36″ model cuts a wide path, but is still lite enough and small enough to get around smaller areas. I love the quality of this shovel. The handle is strong but lite, and the blade is not only strong and lite, but snow just glides off it.I just finished clearing the sidewalks after our 2nd major storm, about an hour and a half of work each time (including breaks), and seriously, this is the right tool for clearing sidewalks. Heavy duty enough to feel like a solid tool that will last for decades, but lite enough for a 69 year old guy to push around. Highly recommended.

If you’ve owned one, this one is sturdy with a flat-edged blade all the way around that does what it’s supposed to.As a native south Texan, I didn’t discover snow pushers until I bought my house with a 20-yd driveway. Fortunately the house came with a 36-in snow pusher, and I quickly learned its place in the spectrum of different snowfalls, snow shovels, and clearing techniques. Snow pushers to snow shovels are like snow plows to bucket loaders. Unfortunately, my old one died right before this week’s first snowfall and I had to use back-breaking methods (shown above) with my regular snow shovel. No one carries snow pushers locally, so I ordered this one as a replacement (convinced of its sturdiness by the yeti ad).Yesterday, it arrived two days early–just in time for the second snowfall this morning. It seemed sturdy enough after assembly, but a fair bit heavier than the old one. I left it outside so the blade would be below freezing–sticking was always a problem with the old one.I realized when I woke that I left my trash bins on the curb, so I went out to move them before the actual plows plowed them in. I meant to clear a path to the curb with my new Snow Pusher, but within 10 minutes I had cleared the entire driveway. Another 10 minutes, and the sidewalk and back patio were clear.     The shovel attaches to the same pole as the scraper. Therefore there are less parts to keep in the cab or truck. Not designed for heavy digging, just moving some snow so you can get on your way. The pole extends pretty well so I can reach my truck’s windows and on top of the roof and hood. I’ve had mine for about a year. I bought a second one for my son this year.

    I just received my Ice Scraper and Snow Brush. It is very sturdy and large looking in person and definitely not as flimsy as some I have used in the past. The shovel portion of this kit doesn’t seem like it will be able to endure anything but a very light snow, but for now it’s better than not having it in case I get stuck in snow. The handle snapped into the scraper easily. This handle is used for both the shovel and ice scraper so you can’t use both at one time. I thought it was a little pricey. Four stars because I haven’t used it yet and am unsure how well it will hold up.

  • New but repackaged? Verified authentic by Ego!
    Mine came in a previously open box, with black and green tape covering the battery and charger labels on the box as I just purchased the shovel without the battery and charger. Maybe it’s a new shovel that got repackaged? It didn’t have any marks on it, but it does appear to work. I did verify with Ego that it is authentic, so I guess time will tell to see if the shovel will work well once it starts to snow.

  • This thing is no joke!
    I am becoming an EGO fanboy. I already own a mower, Weedwhacker, blower, two-stage snowblower, and now this one. I bought this one for when we have snow, but it’s not quite enough for the two stage (big) snowblower. We live in Western Pennsylvania, and I usually have to use the big snowblower once or twice a season. For the rest of the time when it snows, I just use a hand shovel. This thing easily handled 4 inches of snow and did my entire 16 car driveway, including my patio in the back. I bought the bare tool because I already own four other EGO batteries. I used the five amp hour battery for this job and even after all of that snow blowing, I still had all bars of power on my battery. The battery that comes with it I think is a 2.5 amp hour battery which is what I use for my blower and Weedwhacker. I think it’s important to remember that with these lithium batteries they need to be kept indoors in the winter time- charge them indoors, keep them indoors, and they will stay good. It took me about an hour to do the driveway and the patio. With a hand shovel, it’s around 2 to 2 1/2 to do all of that. If you’re unsure of which electric brand to switch to, in my experience, EGO is by far the best.

    I rescue cats some of which are indoor/outdoor cats. This past winter we had a couple of bad ice/snow storms which required some sort of ice melt to go on my steps and walking areas. The toe caps of the leather work boots I wore when applying it turned green for a while. I think the dust from shaking it out stuck to them and took a while to wash off.     This product melts ice from sidewalks. It is safe to use if you gave pets. It does not stain surfaces. I buy the large container and put some into smaller shaker containers to work with manageable amounts at a time. I will definitely be buying more before the winter is over to have on hand for next year.
  • Took about a day to break up ice
    I live in upstate NY and it is super cold and thick ice right now. It did a fairly good job of breaking up ice but didn’t melt it to the ground. I still had to hack away at it but to be fair it was built up since we have a salt shortage here. I bought this for my neighbor’s dog since I live in a house with several tenants. I had bought another product that seems to be in shortage as well and it seemed to melt things better. I also had to hammer holes in the top to get it off. It seemed to be very vacuum packed and it was impossible until I poured out some and broke the vacuum seal. I had to use more than the small scoop as well. Not sure I would buy again, but it is slowly breaking up the ice after two days.

    Wasn’t able to shovel throughout the day and had this from last year – wasn’t sure if it would work so tried to sprinkle a bit overnight and it’s cleared it all. Anywhere it was placed is now clear and will make today much easier!Pets have had no issues so far with their paws ???? works great!

    Works so well and doesn’t refreeze. I am in GA so I’m not sure how well it would work in more wintry locations. Our snow usually melts, slushes and refreezes quickly and this worked well on our wooden porch steps and concrete sidewalks.

    Great pet friendly ice melt but the container is smaller than what you’d get in the store and probably double the cost. But, now that we have this container we can put it outside and refill it with the cheaper ice melt from Walmart. The lid closes very tight to keep any moisture out. It is very heavy so keep that in mind when you’re trying to carry the box inside.
