I purchased this portable fish finder for a very remote fly-in Canadian fishing trip and was hoping for the best. I was pleasantly surprised at the immediacy of the device working. I was expecting some set up or adjusting but the device performed perfectly as is. The screen is easy to read and the screen quality good. The fish finder gave me all I needed to learn the lake with depth, water temp and marked fish. We regularly caught fish from the marks and made a huge difference for our trip.I used braided fishing line to significantly reduce chances of the line breaking and losing the sonar and attached the line to a carabiner which allowed me to easily pull it in and unhook it when motoring.I highly recommend this product for anyone needing something portable.

Be sure to register your product per the instructions.Definitely get a waterproof pouch that you can wear around your neck for the receiver. A 6′ – 6’6″ heavy or medium heavy pole with strong line is tough enough to cast the transducer.Read the manual when you get it. The receiver has plenty of customization to suit your fishing. The display is big, bright, and easy to analyze. Alarms are adjustable, and can be quite loud.I used this fish finder for kayak crappie fishing for its first test. I was able to hit multiple spots where I thought crappie would be, and move on after only a few minutes of fan casting the transducer and getting no fish alerts or indicators. I cut my fishing time down by 15 minutes a spot, and made better use of my paddle time. I finally paddled to a spot with 90 degree cliffs, water depth of 37′, and water temp in the 50s. I cast the transducer out and instantly got fish alerts. The fish depths on the receiver were between 15′ and 11′. I left the transducer bobbing in the water while I fished. Within seconds I had fish in the kayak. You don’t have to stare at the receiver once the alarms and icons are set and you have some familiarity with the setup.This finder is easy to use, extremely accurate, and easy to carry. Don’t wait to buy one. It will make your fishing trips so much more enjoyable.

UPDATE REVIEW 07/10/2020.Tried it on the water and it works, BUT here’s why I docked it down to 4 from 5 stars. The battery even though charged on both finder and receiver it still went down within about 3 hrs total to half. Looking at the screen, NOT easy to see. I switched it to white and then 70% screen to read the display and still couldn’t without cupping my hand over the top to shield the fish finder. Maybe make a shield for it or I’ll search for an alternative covering. It showed fish and the depth clearly, temp of water, and worked well. Fish aren’t biting well this time of year. For a starter fish finder good little thing minus the battery depleting quicker than I’d like.Review date 07/04/2020 – HAPPY 4TH OF JULY.Received this product after looking around for a wireless fish finder. Granted it appears only a few have received it but received high ratings regardless.Great price for a fish finder that I could use on shore or kayaking. It came with a half charge which is fine. The screen is very easy to read, see in sun as well (huge plus since normally I can’t see my cell phone out on the lake due to sun glare) and moving through the menu is pretty simple.I have it charged up and ready to be tested on the water. My only thing I wish it came with was a rope or something to attach it to besides mono. I created a fishing line connected to a parachute cord deal so I could shore toss it or just drop it off the side of my yak.Will update more after water tested.

I used my fish finder for the very first time today. It worked incredibly well. I used it while fishing from my kayak on a fresh water lake here in Florida. I have the sensor attached via a snap swivel with 50 pound test monofilament fishing line approximately 15 feet long. I tied it off to a cleat on my kayak and it follows me right along. At a slow paddle, just right for fishing, the unit worked flawlessly. Actually I had to paddle fairly fast to interrupt the signal.I did have to change the background to white to see the screen in the bright sunlight. The white background makes it very visible. I did purchase a dry bag for my unit which has a blue cast. The blue cast makes the screen a little hard to see with sunglasses on. When I removed the fish finder from the dry bag it was very easy to see everything on the screen even with sunglasses on.I fished for a while with no luck but after studying the fish finder I saw the fish were shown suspended at 15 to 17 feet. The total depth was 27 to 33 feet. I adjusted the depth I was fishing at and began to catch fish. I really like this fish finder and can’t wait to get back out on the water.

Great small sonar ! i use it when carp fishing from the shore to ascertain depth and shelf location in order to more accurately to place baits. Also marked fish well and for my use( just to mark the area in front of me batteries are sufficient long lasting. On white background it is quite readable. One improvement I would suggest is a rod holder device to place it while prospecting depths/fish locations. All in all content with device. Excellent return on investment.

This is a niffy unit. Very compact and easy to use. It seems to be quite accurate except when ice fishing. I think the 90-degree sonar beam bounces off the sides of the ice hole and does not read the depth well. It would be better if the sonar angle was adjustable or more narrow. I’ll keep trying.Up-Date: After a few more outings I’m getting much better results. And the ice has been even thicker so I think I was having issues due to settings. After getting more familiar with it I can say it works quite well. Very happy with it.

Perfect little fish finder for kayaks and other small boats. Was able to rig it up on an ammo can containing the battery with the scotts transducer mound attached to the side. I mounted a cleat on the side as well for extra transducer cable and an extra mount on the front of the boat if I want to move it. Unit works well and is easy to read. Screen is bright and colorful.

A little finicky sometimes, I have issues where the screen just freezes up but turning it off and back on fixes it. Caught fish using it so can’t complain.

My Garmin Stryker works flawlessly and is easy to use. All of the functions work, but I use the traditional imaging most. I’m still learning the side scan. I’m mapping my lake as I fish, because I can’t upload any other users maps or any upgrades. This is because I have an older Android phone and this graph doesn’t work with the older version phones. When I get a new phone hopefully someone out there has uploaded their maps of my lake and I can quit doing all this mapping.

I have used the for 4 months and it is great all fronts for a kayak. The screen is almost bright enough- I bought a sun shield, which really helped. The GPS and mapping are great, while the Vivid 4cv sips at power and my 20Ah battery lasts a whole week of fishing. I prefer the old school look of the reading, but the depth meter is excellent. Now the great part- I rolled my kayak, which has a design flaw allowing it to gulp water so it would reright. It had to be towed on its side to shore, and the side with the finder was submerged the whole time in brackish water. The battery iI had it plugged into died—but not the Garmin! After I got a new battery and wired it, the Garmin was back!!

Works great on our old town kayaks. Fantastic battery life. Very clear.

I bought one of these for my friend and sent it to him. He was excited and went to his local stream and actually used it to catch a fish. I bought one the next day for myself.It’s great. It’s films in color and you can see these fish actually swim up. We put a little bit vial in front of it to lure fish in, and then we knew where to throw our lures, when they swam into view. If you’re tired of being at the lake all day and night, without catching anything, buy yourself one of these!

This was a gift to my 13 year old grandson who loves to fish. He is enjoying the camera very much. Not only does he use it for fishing but is having a great time using it when swimming in the lake with his buddies.

I am giving this a 5 star because it is a great value. I am sure there are cameras with higher clarity etc…but this camera…even in murky water, lets you clearly see the fish…even in relatively low light. I got it to see how many fish are in a pond on my get away property…and it did a great job of that…plus I can see the “landscape” of the bottom of the pond…see where fish like to hang out.It is very easy to set up and use. I am glad I bought it…and would recommend it if your needs are similar to mine.

My oval JBL Marine speakers finally started crackling after 17 years of use, so it was time to replace them. I searched high and low and settled on these speakers. Aside from the fact that they fit almost perfectly in the existing holes (I say “almost” because they are a tad smaller than the JBL speakers), the sound was fantastic; I was able to crank the volume with no distortion and solid bass/treble. The price was definitely competitive too; not the lowest, but certainly not the highest. I would definitely recommend these for any boat.

Fits good in Apache 2800 box for diy boombox. Have around 100 watts of power going to it. Performs great and has held up to some abuse with no distortion.

I got this for my Polaris RZR to run my system that includes four 6 1/2” and one 8” subwoofer along with 2 kicker amps, I replaced using the ride command (stock radio) and it woke up my audio system. The quality is good, brightness display screen. Easy to operate being that the buttons are a good size. Has features like builtin EQ, Bluetooth. It’s a good value for your money. I recommend this 10/10

Installed on a 2009 rzr. Easy to install and works flawlessly with my phone via bluetooth. I haven’t checked to see how the USB works on it nor the radio as I don’t have an antennae yet however it is hooked up to an amplifier with an 8″ sub and two clarion speakers and it sounds amazing when riding with the loudness of my sxs. There’s not much to say other than it’s a very good option for probably a boat and certainly a sxs. While I had to modify (cut out a spot) and it’s not flush but that’s because the rzr is from 09 and wasn’t built to have a stereo option. But it works great. I think it’s an inexpensive option that will certainly perform to most people’s standards provided they have decent speakers. It’s loud, louder than most sound bars for 3x the cost.

Installed this radio and speakers into my boat in less than 1 hour. Awesome product with awesome results. It came with easy to follow directions the quality to really good. Bluetooth function works perfect, speakers have great sound quality, and offers a solid fit into my center console.

Things to know that are confusing about the product description, reviews, and QA on this page:1 – The round one does not come with an antenna. An antenna is not mentioned anywhere on the box or in the manual. I do not know why there are so many QA questions stating that it DOES come with an antenna.2 – The switched-power-on wiring is pointless; the unit has non-volatile memory, so it doesn’t lose clock, bluetooth or radio settings when completely disconnected from power. I’d suggest you wire both power leads together. This is really important if you use a battery switch or breaker panel to disconnect everything when you are away from the boat.Other than these things that I wish I could have confirmed before I bought it: It’s fine. It sounds okay, the interface and menus are okay, the installation instructions are okay. It feels pretty cheap in operation, but it does function. I installed it immediately and it has had a week of being in very, very hot and humid conditions inside my boat and there have been no issues. When it dies, I would be 50/50 on replacing it with the same model or spending more for a different design.Power draw seems very low in operation.

The sound from this is so much better than my older Jensen. Extremely easy to install. The bluetooth connectivity was the most important feature for us and works great!

We have a 3 year old 23ft. travel trailer,and I wasn’t wild about the sound system that came with it. Replaced the outside speakers first, the factory installed speakers were tiny and needed to be cranked up more than the inside speakers. The BOSS speakers were much better, good for the price. Then decided to replace the radio. The Furion unit was a 4 inch cube so my choices were limited as there was not enough room to widen the opening and use a 2 DIN unit. Also, the Bluetooth would cut out if I moved my phone more than a couple feet from the trailer, and I knew it wasn’t the phone. I first tried a Jensen radio which worked ok but not much power. I decided to go with this package and keep the Jensen as a spare. The speakers are almost a match to the outside ones, and installing the radio required adding small blocks for the lower corners. Added a short USB extension because I can’t access the back of the unit when it is screwed into the cabinet. The inside speakers installed into the existing holes in the ceiling. The inside speakers are the “front” and the outside is the “rear.” With the fader set even inside and out the volume is just about even. And the Bluetooth works great. Happy so far.

I have went back and forth on which stereo to get for my side by side and i finally settled on this one. I read lots of reviews and have held back until i actually had time to use it to give honest review. Installation was very easy although one of the screws was missing to mount the tightening bracket on the back of the unit to hold it to the dash. Everything nicely labeled. I did not buy and amp as this has a small amp in it to power the speakers running to it. I ended up with 4 skar audio marine 6.5” speakers. WOW they sound fantastic without adding an external amp to them. This thing has some power on its own. Very easy to use and did i tell you its LOUD! I was just afraid it wouldnt be loud enough while riding the side by side but it exceeded what some of these other reviews said. The only con i currently have is that i also bought a boss audio aux/usb plug so i wouldnt have to use bluetooth and i could just plug my phone cord in and play music from my phone….. well it doesnt work or i just cant find the right setting but i go to usb mode and nothing plays and it doesnt charge my phone like it should. Everything is plugged in correctly. Anyway thats the only problem im having but this is a definate buy for a side by side!!!!

Put these on my 2006 pontoon, and they made it look 15 years newer. Inexpensive, these look great and sound great. They also are easy to install as you just unscrew the old one and pull off the connectors on the old speakers and then attach them on the new ones. No soldering or anything necessary.

Sound great for the money, anyone who buys these thinking they are similar to the high end brands are crazy. Is it crazy good in sound quality? No, but does it sound good for $29? Yes!! If you want some decent loud speakers for your boat or any application i’d buy these. They have decent vocals and decent mid but absolutely no bass which is expected out of a 6.5. Very waterproof as i’ve had mine in the rain and it hasn’t ever fallen apart. Pretty true to size and the cutout was pretty accurate. Distortion does happen if you turn tbe power all the way up but i wouldn’t run it anywhere near its RMS ratings as these are pretty cheap and they tend to lie a lot on these. Otherwise great speakers.

Installed today in Bennington Tri toon. Writing review on the water. Replaced old stock speakers. Got (2) of the 2- packs. Had to change (-) terminal ends to larger ones, old speakers had smaller (-) terminal ends. Quick install, already had installed a Pyle head unit couple years back.HUGE upgrade from stock speakers! Have an old amp was going to push them with, and I’m sure they’d do better with it based on the reviews I’ve read, but we’re definitely happy with how they sound even without an amp. Doubt I’ll mess with the amp, sounds great, very clear, no distortion. Would recommendWill see how waterproof they are, we don’t cover the boat so they’re definitely going to get wetCheers & tight lines

I am indifferent about these. We purchased one set and they came and it was someone’s used speakers (not even the same model). We requested a replacement which was accepted and the others they sent were fine. We replaced these in our pontoon and they seem to do the job and fit well, I just wish they would look at their products before sending them out.

Super radio , easy to use, and has incredible range for a hand held radio.

This is my go-to radio for communications on the ocean. I have frequent trips where I need to speak with captains and this radio has a BIG bright screen, grabs frequencies well and FLOATS if I drop it. I’ve purchased a few and keep coming back to this lovely workhorse!

Great for use around a boat club or just having it in case a radio goes out on the lake and is slam packed with features the sound quality is amazing. Battery charges quick very light weight and easy to use overall price to performance you can’t beat it

Radio seems to work well, and holds a charge for quite a while. Gave 4 stars because the “multi purpose “ buttons are kind of confusing. They could have added a couple more buttons and made it much more user friendly.

Good deal for the price!

For backup communications or for staying in contact with travlers, it’s a darn good strong radio. Took a 2 mile drive away from brother in a hilly part of FL and they worked clear and strong as a bell. It’s nice to get what’s advertized.

Usually buy ICOM’s, but needed one now and this fit the bill. I like that it is floating in case of overboard fall. Screen is very readable even in direct sunlight. Nice loud speaker and easy to grip. High, medium and low power ranges. Only charges in special charging station, but station can also screw to a wall to save desk space. Bought to use in my skiff and am quite happy with it. Waterproof to 3 feet for 1/2 hour if attached to something that sinks it. Price was almost half of my usual brand and it seems to work just as well. Time will tell, but I think I’m going to be quite happy with this one. I like the high wattage capability.

Great radio,I use it for work. Clear sound, no mic distortion and excellent range. It’s waterproof, ( I know this for a fact). I work outside on beaches. So I’m all kinds of weather. It holds a charge well, it’s on 12 house a day. 7 days a week. The mic I purchased works great with it. Look for my review on it … Also great price!!!

This is my first handheld radio purchase in over 20 years, so I was impressed with how far industry features and technology have come in general and specifically how capable this little radio was for the price. Full disclosure – I have not had a chance to test it for any real length of time or out on the water. I also chose not to give it a dunk to test its waterproof claim or the “float and flash” alarm, otherwise the radio with all its features, functions as advertised. One note concerning battery life: if you want to use the scan function, turn off the backlight as it otherwise stays on in scan mode. The included user’s manual is a bit of an eye test, so I encourage downloading the e-version from the Retevis website. The manual could do a more thorough job of explaining the purpose of some of the features and subsequently I did have a couple of questions concerning squelch settings and the monitor key. What I found most impressive was the Retevis customer support! They responded in less than an hour to both my initial question and to a follow-up on the monitor function. The squelch issue was my bad as I kept expecting to get static / noise at a setting of 2 or 3 like my other radios but found with this one I had to turn it off (setting of 0) to find noise so squelch in my case works best set at level1. The monitor function essentially provides a one button push to bypass squelch when receiving a very weak signal, push it again and you’re back to your squelch setting.So far, I found the Retevis RM21 to be a feature packed handheld at a great price with excellent customer support.

Radio worked great and easy to use.

I’ve had this radio for several months now. I work on a ship and use this 18 horus a day 7 days week. The battery has never dropped below 50% and it’s been through a rough season so far yet has never malfunctioned. I like the features it offers and I can usually get out about 10 miles if I need to talk to another ship. Close range is perfect and I can hear my ship mates perfectly as we use the same radio. My only complaint is the volume knob is somewhat lose so it can be turned down just by grazing your arm alongside it and the fact that the radio doesn’t come with a corded microphone but for $70 at the time I bought this, it’s not a big deal. I can attest to it’s weather seal keeping it water proof. I’ve had this thing soaked in water multiple times and it works just fine afterwards. Hopefully your experience is just as good as mine.

I read many comparable product reviews. This one was less expensive than the name brands and had higher reviews, making this one an easy choice. In addition, one outstanding thing is that this is the only one I could find that allows for replacing the battery pack. What a concept right? Many of the more expensive ones simply do not allow for battery replacement, which to me is unacceptable. Radio seems to receive clear signals and holds a charge well, although we have not been out on the water since Christmas and winter so am testing it one way. Have not had a chance to test range with another vessel, but reviewers state it transmits strong for hours. One thing I would add is there should be a 12Volt charged made available, or as part of a package purchase so that I can charge on board the boat and not have to carry home to charge. At this point I am happy with this product and will change/update this review if I find issues with the unit. Happy boater with new handheld VHF.

Best extension speaker I’ve ever used

This powered speaker is best suited for using the PA capability of your transceiver (if it has this function), or to provide a louder volume inside a noisy room or vehicle cab. Clean and clear sound in audio midrange, which includes most of the spoken vocal ranges. It does not perform well as a powered hi fi speaker for music, but then it was not intended for this purpose.I would like to add here a response to some of the answers I received for my question I posted before I purchased this speaker. Since the listed description is incomplete RE whether a 12 VDC cigarette lighter male plug adapter is included, I had posted the question and received several responses that said ‘yes’, several responses that said ‘no’, and one response that said it was powered through the 3.5mm audio connector. And so I reached out directly to Midland for clarification. First, this is a powered speaker which requires 12 VDC for its built-in amplifier, and it can be hard-wired into a vehicle’s 12 VDC supply; no 3.5mm audio connection can do this. Second, yes, this speaker package DOES include a male 12VDC cigarette lighter plug adapter. I use this speaker in my shack and power it with a simple 110 VAC to 12 VDC/5A power supply that has a female cigarette lighter port, and I use it in my SUV via a cigarette lighter port splitter (allows me to move my transceiver between indoors and vehicle, and power both the speaker and transceiver).The ANL circuit works, almost too well in a small space as it responds to the speaker output reflections. I found that, in a small space (vehicle or small room), keeping the volume down to a comfortable level and positioning the speaker (tilt/rotate) experimentally, the ANL works well.

Bought the speaker to use with my small, low power ham radio that has weak audio out. Speaker works for a few seconds with good sound level, then goes silent. Finally scoped the problem. SPK200 has a very aggressive automatic noise reduction circuit that silences all but the loudest signal over noise. Does not work for HF ham radio where you have to hear all signals in order to tune the radio. Would work for an FM radio like GMRS, Ham VHF/UHF handheld or a CB radio where frequencies are channeled. Decided to return the item and go with another solution.

Now this is a very solidly built unit. However its description is very confusing. It claims to be an amplified speaker, but there is no way to control/increase the volume output. On my older Motorola powered speakers they were amplified and had a volume control that allowed you to increase the volume for noisy locations. Now all this one has is this ANL system, why I have no idea, But i was looking for something to actually amplify the volume. I am going to keep it just because it is a neat toy to add to my collection of uniden scanners, But i will be looking for a real amplified speaker that has the ability to increase the volume.

Midland external speaker works great would recommend.

Highly recommend. This version is well worth the money. The overlay options and multiple shading options have really helped me depth and structure. There are so many options I’ve yet to try.

a bit difficult to get accustomed but really helpful on a large Canadian lake I was fishing for the first time after using it a while. Overall accuracy and definition was quite good.

First time Humminbird user, and boy do I regret it. The Lakemaster map is a complete waste of money. The worst lake map I have ever seen, and believe it or not, the Humminbird base map that comes with the units is even worse! Neither of their maps show any secondary creek channels–the MAIN piece of structure for ANY fisherman of ANY species! Worse yet, Humminbird Helix units don’t communicate, so you have to buy TWO maps (one for front and one for console) instead of one. The Humminbird rep lied and told me Lakemaster was the only map that worked with Humminbird. I just now learned that was false, Navionics chips work too, but now it’s too late to return the Lakemaster map. Skeeter boats should be embarrassed to put Humminbirds in their boats. Garmin and Lowrance are vastly superior. Technology to share a map chip between units has been there for over a decade, so we know Humminbird is just trying to sell more chips. Sorry excuse of a company, sorry excuse of a product.
