I had pre-ordered the ‘greatest hits’ LP and then was watching the HBO documentary, and just had to get this album. Not going to review the music itself, obviously it’s a classic. The vinyl quality is great, feels solid and plays wonderfully.

Okay, I have a 5.1 version of THE STRANGER and it is a wonder to behold. Music enlopes you from every pocket and if you are sitting in the middle of the “sweet spot” you’d think Billy was performing just for you. However, these reviews seem to mix up A – the live CD offered as part of THE STRANGER ANNIVERSARY REISSUE, B – a non 5.1 SACD version of THE STRANGER – so while I was ready to purchase, I have NO IDEA of what exactly I am buying. But I think AMAZON, the greatest store on earth – might need to hire a full-time staff to monitor the reviews. There are many different versions of classic CDS and MOVIES so the PRODUCT DETAIL needs to be very accurate and the reviews should only ocme from people who have bought that particular product. And not only are the wrong reviews from different version carried over, but people POST the wrong reviews as well, so this needs monitoring. If I knew for a fact this was the SACD 5.1 THE STRANGER I would buy it – but I need DETAILS!!!!!!!!!A FEW WEEKS LATER: I went and bought the STRANGER ANNIVERSARY SET and it’s a keeper. Less than 20 bucks – you get a remastered STRANGER DISC (in 2 channel stereo) – that frankly, does not sound like the best incarnation of the CD, but it’s ok – just not great. You get a great live CD that doesn’t have a whole show, but enough of essential songs with string backgrounds to make it worth it – then a DVD with a MAKING OF THE STRANGER, some promo videos AND a one hour show from the 70s where he sings a GREAT SET? This is a no-brainer set. Just not the best version of THE STRANGER but non-audiophiles will probably not know the difference.UPDATE: 12.9.2013Okay, I have now bought the BILLY JOEL COLLECTION (a 2011 set offered by BillyJoel.com and here at Amazon – that has been remastered by Ted Jensen (he usually masters most of Billy’s stuff.) BTW – I have not recieved that item yet – what I HAVE gotten is the NEW 2 – channel Ted Jensen remastered SACD that went on sale recently. I have now heard this so many times I’m probably a little punch-drunk, but – it sounds fantastic with all kinds of little details I didn’t hear the first time around – in in some ways – this is better than the 5.1 SACD – mainly because on that 5.1 sacd they put a huge echo on Billy’s main vocal that was annoying and this simply reminds me of a great version of the CD – all that said – it’s a shame they didn’t put the 5.1 on here as well as another option – but I have no idea how that works because I’m just glad I have both. But yes, if you have an SACD player, this is a wonderful new way to enjoy the record and hear all the details.

Every track on this Morgan Wallen I’m The Problem, 2-disc CD, has his heart poured into it. The young man is a hit maker in his own right with a simple style in conveying a life of rebellion and carefree living. There’s a lot of reflection in hard living and paths chosen. I listen to music for nostalgia and this work of art does the trick. His music takes me back in the day…

This Morgan Wallen music collection is fun to listen to and radiates music brilliance with multiple music creations that metaphorically take a music listener on a metaphoric music listening escape in a healing and amusing way. For instance with originality flair Morgan Wallen channels the theme of metaphorically looking into the mirror before pointing the finger at someone with I’m The Problem, the message to allow heartbreak andor breaking up to make someone a better person andor improved for the better while voluntarily or being forced to move on is remarkably channeled in I Got Better, the excitement of two consenting adults wanting a similar agreement with a potential conventional relationship situation andor friends with benefits is terrifically harnessed in What I Want feat. Tate McRae, the concept of being more open-minded to someone with a different lifestyle is channeled in a metaphorically strong way with Come Back As A Redneck feat. Hardy, being blunt in a crafty way with preferring enduring and looking past surface appearances type of true love with Love Somebody and much more music gems included etc. This edition also featuring 2cds and within the cd jacket multiple images of Morgan Wallen having an entertaining time and images pertaining to the theme of this music collection also enhance the appeal of this Morgan Wallen 2cd edition.

[VINYL] Concord Music Pressing [2 LP] – If you are running an average player this will probably sound fine for you. If you have a higher end player you will notice some of the imperfections others have mentioned. I did NOT notice any warping, as others have mentioned. I do use a record weight stabilizer, which I find improves the playback. I don’t have the ear to be a good audiophile, but I will say if you are looking for something remastered by a master engineer and sourced from the original tapes – this is NOT it.

Fantastic album. Stephen Wilson Jr is a prolific songwriter and performer. This CD does not disappoint. Best new music/artist I’ve heard in a decade.

This is my favorite artist local to my region of Kentuckiana! His music has guts, growls, and let’s your soul howling and shout! As an Eastern Kentucky hillbilly currently transplanted to Kentuckiana, Holler From the Holler is my new anthem! I have this album on repeat!

Steven Wilson Jr is fantastic! Great voice and music! I love the album not a bad song in the group. Just good music for all!

Stephen Wilson Jr.’s fantastic new album gives today’s slickly packaged/auto-tuned/pseudo-rapping “hair-country” acts the ass kicking that Grunge gave mediocre “hair-metal” bands in the 1990s. Like Chris Stapleton (and perhaps Eric Church), Stephen Wilson Jr. is a singular talent whose intelligent writing, unique singing style and ferocious guitar playing reveal most of country’s current acts to be talent Lilliputians by comparison. Of the two-CD album’s 22 songs, fifteen or more are simply stellar offerings. A man who counts Willie Nelson and Kurt Cobain amongst his heroes can’t be far from perfect, and Stephen Wilson Jr. is exactly what country music needs now. Buy this album, you’ll wear it out.

Great album with a unique genre/expression.

This 2 CD set plays like a greatest hits album even though I’m not sure any of the songs were actually chart hits since Stephen Wilson Jr. was not widely known upon its release. In my opinion, at least 17 of them should have been big hits and the remaining 5 are all excellent as well. The songwriting is simply incredible; right up there with many of the greats. I would describe his guitar playing as similar to Willie Nelson (if Willie was on steroids). Then you add his very unique voice, and you have the whole package. If this guy is not the next big thing in music, something is not right in the world.and his voice and guitar playing are superb, unlike anything I hear today.

I’m a new listener to her music. She just won the CMA entertainer of the year, this was the Album of the year, and Female Artist of the Year. All well deserved. The CD is a great listen – song writing, vocals, musical accompaniments.

Just recently became a fan of Lainey. Listening to this cd brought me back to listening to some new country, every song is written or cowritten by her. Fantastic voice

Who doesn’t love Lainey Wilson? This is a great album and so many great songs. I am going to her concert in Vegas in December and couldn’t find the CD in any stores. If you love Lainey Wilson, this is a must have CD. Several fun, upbeat songs, along with her hits.

Zach Top grew up on a ranch in Sunnyside, Washington listening to Marty Robbins, George Strait, Keith Whitley, and Randy Travis while riding in an old Chevy pickup to feed livestock. He sang his first single “Cold Beer & Country Music” at Grand Ole Opry. At age seven, he formed a bluegrass band with his siblings called Top String. I haven’t been this buzzed by a country album since Randall King’s “Shot Glass” a couple years back. His music is unadorned traditional country. There are no weak tracks and a string of classic sounding tunes.He slows the tempo on the catchy “Cowboys Like Me Do” where he tells a new girl that he’s not likely to hang around, before she takes him home for the night. Zach has a beautiful voice where his velvet vocals embrace the melody on the love song “There’s the Sun.” “The Kinda Woman I Like” is a mid-tempo rocker that raises the roof with Andy Leftwich’s fiddle and Scotty Sanders’ steel guitar. “Bad Luck” bounces as Top laments his string of risky failures until he met his new girlfriend, “I had every reason to give up until you came along, now it’s so long bad luck.” “Use Me’ is a tear-in-your-beer weeper as two lonely people ask each other to lie just for tonight. “Ain’t That a Heartbreak” is a great toe tapper where a man’s wife breaks up by telling him the kids aren’t his. When she shows up months later, he tells her to hit the road. One of my favorites is “I Never Lie” where a guy is obviously carrying a torch for a lost love but tells her, “I sleep like a baby; I never show up late for work; I don’t drink whiskey; I don’t know how it feels to hurt;Oh, and I ain’t been lonely since you said goodbye; I wish I could say I miss you, but you know I never lie.”Zach Top’s freshman solo CD is so good, it’s instantly classic. If you’re a fan of old-school country, don’t let this one slip by. Enjoy!

Got to see him live in 2024 at the TN Valley Fair and he sounds just as good on stage as he does on vinyl!I love ALL kinds of country music! From the early “twangy” days of Hank Williams and Conway Twitty in the 40s and 50s.. to the groovy/moody music of Johnny Cash, George Jones and Patsy Cline in the 60s.. to the early days of Merle Haggard and Willie of the 70s and 80s.. the barback classics of Brooks and Dunne, George Strait and Clint Black of 90s.. the wild and rowdy years of Tobey Keith and Big and Rich in the 2000’s.. and everything since then from Lady Antebellum to Morgan Wallen. I LOVE county music! Its an incredible genre!Zach Top taps into that 1990s nostalgia that we all know and love and hits it out of the park! He is an incredible musician and singer and I look forward to listening to him throughout his career!

I bought this CD for one particular song I had heard on the radio and was surprised by several songs that I really like. Worth buying if you like country music!

Like traditional & early ’90s country music then you’ll love Zach Top! Zach would have fit in perfectly with the Class of ’89 with up & coming country artists like Alan Jackson, Clint Black & Travis Tritt! This is a outstanding album with many great songs! My favorite 5 are : 1. Cowboys Like Me Do, 2. There’s The Sun, 3. Dirt Turns To Gold, 4. Lonely For Long, & 5. I Never Lie (a fan favorite)!!! The song I Never Lie reminds me of a Keith Whitley song in a lot of ways called I’m Over You!!! Zach should be all over country music radio & any of these songs could be number 1!!!????

Rare mix of musicianship, melodies, messages, and genres. Brandon Coleman has a lived in voice that translates every emotion of history and angst with a great range. Avoid comparisons to Elvis or others, his is a singular voice, reminiscent of Danko/Helm/Presley but not trying to copy. Great mix of Americana, blues, Gospel, southern rock and just plain good music, relatable stories and powerful performances. Production quality is great. Leaves you wanting to hear more.

This band is awesome! Great album, excellent sound. The lead singer has such a distinct voice and puts it to great use with this album. I am hooked!

I’m not often impressed by any kind of music, but this group is incredibly talented! This CD was more than worth money spent! If I could rate this music with ten stars, I would gladly do it! Red Clay Strays, you are going places!

It was a pleasant surprise. Some may not care for the lyrics, but not me. I’m not sure “Rock-a-billy” is an accurate description, but I really enjoyed it.
