I have tried 3 styles of lavalier mics for iPhone/Android/PC/Mac. These have the rectangular, “thumb drive” style mic. These were cheapest I found, that included dead cat windscreens. There is a pretty loud pop/buzz when I turned mute on or off. That is somewhat annoying, but another one I used did the same thing. I recommend NOT having the speaker use the on-mic button and just mute on the device or edit the audio after the fact. The sound quality of these lavs is actually very good for mics this inexpensive.The mics and receiver worked perfectly. My iPhone, using the USB-C to Lightning adaptor (included), paired and I was ready to record. I had basically the same experience using Lightning adaptor on iPad, iPhone, as well as USB-C (no adaptor) on Mac and Windows. I was immediately able to record using Twisted Wave (INCREDIBLE iOS recorder/editor, BTW!), GarageBand, and Audacity. I don’t have an Android, so I couldn’t test that.Dead cat (“fluffy”) windscreens are definitely superior to black foam. There are use cases where the dead cat is not best so it is nice to have both. Noise cancellation wasn’t exceptional. My mini-fridge fan was LOUD when the mic was too close but fine farther away. I don’t think exceptional noise cancellation should be expected in this price range.Dead cats: The fuzzy/hairy/fluffy, gray coversThey look good and do their job (less wind noise, even from breath). The ONLY complaint I have with the dead cats is getting them BACK ON. Another reviewer recommend a pair of “dull scissors” to spread open the elastic. I used needle nose pliers instead and that worked very well.TO PUT THE DEAD CATS BACK ON:-stick the tip of the needle nose into the elastic opening at the bottom.-carefully and gently open the needle nose to make a space for the lab mic-insert mic head into the opening in the elastic-once it is in slightly, you will have to work it all the way down until it fits in the groove for the elastic about 1/4″ down the mic headThere you go, easy way to put the dead cats back on. Now you don’t have to fear swapping the foam/dead cats for a given scenario!SUMMARY:Very decent mics. Good voice quality. Virtually no setup, plug and play. Mute button is noisy. The others had 2 extra foam tips (total of 4) and 2 extra mic clips. They were the tubular style lav body rather than this rectangle style. If they are the same price as these, I would recommend them because the extra foam and clips could prove useful and the sound/quality was very similar. If these are cheaper, then you can decide what is best for your needs.

This was an absolutely fantastic mic that I used on a soccer field when finishing my D License. It worked with my iPhone with no additional configuration. It came charged from the factory, though I did top it off. The clip worked well and it was lightweight. We used the wind muff on it and it did cut down excess wind noise and breath sounds.It is not obtrusively large and is pretty small and packs a punch as a mic. The recording quality was great and it worked about 10 meters away but we have also had them where they were fine the width of a soccer field.

When it comes to electronics, there are name brands that want to charge you an arm and a leg, and then there are thousands of unknown brands that over saturate the market. I was blown away by the build quality when these came in. They are sturdy, they feel great of your head – not loose like they’re gonna fall off, and not gonna give you a headache after wearing them for a while. They adjust enough, it could be more. They ears flip in 180 degree motion. One nice touch is that the cable it comes with not only is also quality but gives you the options for 1/8 and 1/4 in jacks on each side, so depending on what you need to plug into, your covered. They have a wireless battery powered version, but I elected to go with the cable one. May try that one out next. This brand is apparently making a name for themselves because of the price to performance and value.

I’ve been using these OneOdio Pro-10 headphones for a couple of weeks, mostly for mixing small home-recordings and listening while editing tracks. For what they cost I’m more impressed than I expected.What I like: The 50mm drivers deliver serious bass and solid mids; vocals come through clear enough. The swivel earcups are great for single-ear monitoring during mixing, and the dual cable setup (coiled 6.35mm + straight 3.5mm) means I can plug into both my amp and laptop without hunting down adapters. The build feels decent — headband is adjustable, ear cushions are comfortable enough for hour-long sessions. They fold somewhat and come with a pouch, so packing them for gigs or travel isn’t horrible.What I don’t love: They’re not quiet by any stretch — sound isolation is so-so, and you’ll hear outside noise. I bought these to use with my Quest 3 rather than rely on the built in quest speakers to combat audio quality loss. Ive tried various bluetooth and wired ear buds, which just didnt work, they were usually way too tinny screeching sounding which hurt my ears.The DJ Studio Headphones by OneOdio have certainly surpassed my expectations. The ear phones are plushy, and very comfortable and does very well at blocking out external sounds so all you hear is what you are playing through the headphones.As a test, i opened Skybox on my Quest and played Poltergeist, and it very much felt like I was sitting in a theater with sound quality these give. Has very good bass and a nice balance with treble. Audio is just right, not tinny sounding at all. I only paid $35 for these but their quality is so good it feels like I spent alot more. It does take a little getting used to the multi directional ear muffs. If you’re looking for great sounding headset.. these are it!! And yes they work flawlessly with the Quest 3

I have a HP laptop with speakers that are less than desirable. Compound this with a lifetime of audio problems, (hard of hearing), and the speakers are pretty much useless. A set of cheap computer/desktop speakers were purchased with good results as they had a separate volume control plus a jack for headphones/earbuds. Having a small desk, It was getting crowded between the laptop, the speakers and the desk light, compounded by the fact that the whole set up is against a wall that goes out to a common hallway. This restricts my volume as I don’t need to have anyone hearing what I’m doing while I am online. Thus the purchase of these headphones.I chose headphones over earbuds as my ears easily get irritated when something is inserted. My main concern was two fold. The first is I have a large head, (size 7 5/8) and past ear protection devices have been pretty much uncomfortable both against the ears and overall. The second is perspiration as sweat build up occurs after extended wear. Being quite a while since I wore headphones, (2012) I did note an improvement but was still a bit gun shy.To be honest, these were not my first choice. I initially saw a set of DJ headphones with a 9′ cord which appealed to me for freedom of movement. For whatever reason, these were ordered instead.These headphones came 4 days after ordering through standard, free shipping. Arriving in a soft pack with a bubble lining, the headphones were in a box enclosed within a sleeve. This made unwrapping a bit of a challenge as I wanted to save the box in case of return. Finally gaining entry, the headphones were in a bubble wrapped bag and two sets of wiring were enclosed within another. It was then I realized my error. Throwing caution to the wind, I took them out and read the enclosed the multi language manual. This was helpful as it was discovered that the ear pieces work somewhat like a person’s neck. One side rotating 90 degrees counter clockwise and the other 90 degrees clockwise. Both tilted both up and down and both have extenders to adjust to the wearer. Also noted was the padding. Both ear pieces had generous padding as well as the top of the head set. It was nice to note that both sides of the ear pieces had outlets to accomodate the speaker wires. This makes it easier to plug the side in from the source thus avoiding crossover.Two sets of wires came. The first was a red, stretchable cord with a 6.5mm plug for items like guitars and speakers on one end and a 3mm plug for the head set. The cord is 2m long but can be stretched to 3m. The second cord is a 1.2m standard cord with 3mm plugs on both ends. There is also a “control” button should the wearer have the headphones plugged into a phone.Assembling the pieces, I plugged the 3mm into the cheap speakers and ran a gauntlet of various apps from music to gaming. WOW! WOW! WOW! A full, rich, clear sound was experienced through both earpieces despite the plug being on the right side. Every sound was heard, no matter how subtle. I did note, however, it was a bit “bassy” for my preference, but I was completely overwhelmed by the sound quality. Wondering if maybe the speakers may have some influence, I plugged the headset directly into the laptop. NOPE! No change in quality and I gained a little more cord in the process.After playing for about two to three hours, It was pleasantly noted that the only time it was noted the headset was on was when I reached up to my head to scratch. Very lightweight, snug, yet comfortable even with glasses. No sweat experienced. No discomfort against the ears or atop the head. The cheap speakers were then moved and attached to another device that also had less than desirable speakers. It is unknown about the noise cancellation as the residence is pretty quiet with the exception of others going up and downstairs as well as the upstairs resident. Time will tell.These are definately a keeper. Even though I have owned these less than a day, I am totally impressed with the looks, feel, and performance of these headphones. Definately a keeper and highly recommended!!!!04/29/2019 update. These have almost constantly on my head and I have made a couple observations. 1. Despite being “full” ear headphones, they are not sound blocking. On a couple of occasions, I have been hearing knocking on my door as well as the phone ringing and someone talking, even though I couldn’t understand what was spoken. Both have originated about 20 feet away. 2. the head band has a tendency to slide forward towards the forehead. I haven’t figured out why yet and will post when I do. Right now I am testing a couple of theories.

Mine is a bit round but average size and they fit me like they were custom made when fully extended.Very comfortable and sound quality and frequency response is almost unbelievable for the price. Got this microphone as an upgrade from another Fifine one. My use is light which is just discord calls with friends and conference meetings at work. It looks great in white and fits my setup.I use it in USB mode, and it was basically plug-and-play no extra drivers needed and every one I talked to said that the sound quality is clear, crisp, and arguably professional. The built-in gain knob are super convenient, and I like having a physical mute button, In my opinion all microphones should have one.If I had to nitpick, I’d say the buttons could be improved, they are touch-sensitive and easy to activate by accident, especially if you don’t care for RBG like me, who keeps having it turning on whenever I go to move the mic around.Also, if you plan to use XLR, you’ll need to provide your own cable and interface. But overall, for the price, the FIFINE mic delivers excellent value.

Honestly I had a Shure microphone before i got this one, this microphone works really well for streaming and discord calls. I haven’t had any problems with this microphone what so ever compared to the shure microphone that I did have. I would recommend this microphone to people if they want to stream but can’t afford a super expensive one. It’s really good quality and durable for what I was looking for. The sound quality also comes off really well, it picks me up whenever I need it. The cable also came with an adapter to plug in with a USB, it was super easy to connect to the pc as well. 10/10.

I typically don’t leave reviews for items that meet expectations, so this is a big deal for me. After about 3 weeks of use, I’m blown away by the quality of this mic. This mic is hands down one of the best available for the price point. Is it as good as a Blue Yeti, I don’t know. Is it way cheaper, definitely. I was previously using a Logitech G733 headset for my content/streaming and it was serviceable. I wanted a dedicated mic because with a detachable headset mic, the quality at times was hit and miss on replay of recorded content.For less than half of what I spent on the G733 headset, I got this microphone. It comes with a mount adapter in case you want to use a stand or boom with it (besides the little baby stand it comes with). It comes with a pretty long USB-C to USB-A/C (there’s a slide on adapter piece on one end) cord to hook it in to your broadcast device of choice. BIG FEATURE also is the XLR port on the back, which is professional quality mic connection that is typically used in studio/professional production environments. Another neat quality of life feature for me is the red/green mic on/off light on the top of the mic. I purchased the Mic Mini to help shoot quick videos for work. I shoot a lot of short videos with vocals and if it is windy or there are machines running near where I am shooting the iPhone just does not cut out enough of the background noise and the videos sound rough.It has been a month now and I can honestly say I love it. These little Mic’s make all the difference. They do a great job in noise reduction. My vocals sound crisp and clear. I did my research but the price point of this Mic Mini is what sold me. Best bang for the buck in my opinion.The carrying case is the perfect size. It is small, has pockets for all of the pieces and fits in my pocket. This makes it easy to carry around, quickly set up when I need to record a video, then break it down and put it back in my pocket and continue on. The clip works on shirts, coats and sweaters. The magnet is super strong. The battery capacity is great. I charged it when I first got it and still have not had to charge either mic yet. The Receiver connects to my phone super quick making this great for on the go.If you are trying to record crisp, quality audio on a budget this should be your go to. I cannot find anything negative to say about the Mic Mini

The Solo is a solid DAC for a one man setup, got it originally to get into high-fi audio and combo’d it with the Sienhouser HD550s and the Scarlett (alongside good gear) does give an audiophile like listening experience, listening to flac files was a great time, and using it to process video game audio made me near omniscient during gameplay. I also happened to start playing guitar and bass about 7 months ago and it’s great for plugging in instruments to an amp sim or recording, ditto goes for any xlr mics, mine is a budget dynamic mic that needs particularly high gain to be audible (the pd100 from Maono) and the Scarlett handles it no problem. I can’t properly speak to the sound quality of the L/R speaker outs since I’m using a pair of Pebble V3s in an untreated room, but I’m assuming it would be similar in quality to what I heard from my headphones. As always, the quality of your sound is going to be determined by your audio pipeline as a whole and this is only one part of that chain, though I feel this device is a particularly strong link in any one person setup.

The Focusrite Scarlett Solo 4th Generation USB Interface has been outstanding. The sound quality is noticeably clear, warm, and clean, and the preamps are excellent for vocals and instruments. I specifically chose this version because I’m using a RODE dynamic microphone, and I needed an interface with clean preamp gain and proper XLR support without introducing noise or requiring extra hardware. Scarlett 2i2 4th Gen USB – I love it. I am using a long line of multiple 2i2 devices from Gen 1, Gen 2, Gen 3 for years. I am happy with all of them. Very good built quality, plain, low noise, low distortion. They all meet manufacturer specifications. No inflated claims like some manufacturers do. Each model had some tiny glitches that did not affect my experience. So my expectations are high on 4th Gen. A box arrived quickly. I opened it and realized a box has no protecting layer to soften shocks, blows during transportation. Just over box inside of almost identical, only slightly larger box! This experience was not a good welcome to me. I believe such packaging of any electronics reduces product reliability. Didn’t you see how sometimes drivers drop packages on concrete floor? So I almost feel like getting used product, am I too sensitive about it? Alone in my opinion such product should have some shock absorbing layer of foam material or air bubbles sheet?After opening a box I see a piece of paper printed with miniature characters. Microscope could help… But no guidance here how to get the first steps. Only warnings in very many languages. As I would need all this, very high priority to manufacturer but not to me! I think this excellent product has new functions that a purchaser is not familiar with. It would be highly beneficial if a a small hard card size like 2-3 business cards shows briefly what happens when each of new controls used. OK, I can find it in pdf user manual, but I don’t want to print user manual for one of 15 models audio interfaces I have. So I will work with audio recordings while scrolling through pdf file, at least till I am familiar with all this product offers. After such observations I wish to get to recording… And pdf file does not tell clearly up front that utility program is actually a driver. I have to spend time to learn it. This is the very first item to perform after purchase, but info is written among other content, not up front. I want to install utility program but no info provided if 2i2 Gen 4 should be connected or not, during installation. I learn here I should go to the internet, manufacturer’ webpage and get information how to proceed. A suggestion is strong – identify yourself first! So you can get audio recording software. But I don’t use the internet on sacred computers. I don’t wish to be exposed to Spyware and threats from Microsoft like this one: You paid for our Office Suite, but we make it stop at our convenience under pretense we check if you are the correct user???? So I will to install a driver only, no suspicious activities and forced “updates”, no spyware on my precious computer. How do I proceed considering above? I loaded needed file on another computer, copied it to one working with 2i2 Gen 4. It works fine that way. The utility is just sampling rate changing program combined with a driver, at least on my computer. Nothing else. A device works well, nothing wrong. I enjoy it from that moment. I don’t need extra programs for musicians.Now most enjoyable part – distortion and noise testing. Both are excellent low, exactly as shown on specifications. I really enjoy low noise that is closer now to that of higher grade Clarett+ noise. Regarding distortion, Clarett+ has specs about 0.0003% while Scarlett 2i2 spec is around 0.001% for all generations 1, 2, 3, 4. Truly excellent product here, amazing performance for $200 and this product is far ahead of other USB audio interfaces I used before. Important to me is the fact it can work with no AC/DC power adapter. Through my career I experienced scenarios that noise reading was lowest if USB audio device was powered through USB cable. Then noise reading was even slightly better if power supply disconnected from laptop. The noise reading was consistently worse if given USB audio interface AND laptop used both AC/DC adapters. The difference could be a few dB but sometimes noise spikes were 10dB and more above noise floor, depending how clean was power line, individual wall outlets. I will check later 2i2 Gen 4 on that noise immunity and will update my review.In terms of reliability, all earlier Scarlett 2i2 I used full time worked a minimum of 5 years. If something wrong happened, it would be in the “abuse” category like frequent plugging, unplugging in, out cables with ESD damage maybe. Or connecting to multiple other devices powered with AC/DC adapters and no isolating transformers between. I am a laboratory user, not a musician, so different considerations, scenarios. Scarlett 2i2 Gen 4 is a great tool now for my audio experiments, audio test fixtures, audio signal measuring / analyzing setups.5 stars, but no 5+ due to less perfect packaging with less perfect protection against abuse in transit.
