This drive is great – not the fastest, but for backups, it has allowed me to consolidate multiple other drives onto one devices, simplifying my setup and honestly – the price point for 20TB is insanely good. It works exactly as expected, setup was trivial – so far all good !!!

I just bought this Seagate 5TB portable drive, and in only two days I’ve already transferred 1TB of files, photos and videos, without any issues. Everything loads perfectly and runs smoothly. I bought 2 of these for my 2020 iMac 27 inch. One is for my photos library and the other is strictly for running Time Machine. Probably way more storage than I needed, but am figuring that these external hard drives can grow with me + they were an excellent value at the price point. Down the road, I might add other files (apart from my system photo library), to one of them, but for now I have regained so much free space back on the Mac. Easy to format and use via Disk Utility. Might buy another at a later date for my music collection. RECOMMEND

The external hard drive enclosure is slightly bigger than the actual hard drive itself. In my experience it has an okay speed. Not the fastest drive that I’ve used. The USB port is a normal usb-a 3.0 port so no usb-c. The power source has multiple adapters for people who would use it for their travels so no matter what kind of power outlet it present you should be okay. The design of the external case has openings to vent the heat coming from the actual hard drive inside. In terms of security, the drive is held in my rubber pads within the external enclosure that are surrounded by plastic tabs that hold it in.The external hard drive is a good choice to use for a NAS build if you are comfortable shucking the external case. The price is competitive when compared to a normal NAS internal drive. If you choose to go that route bear in mind that shucking the drive comes at the risk of voiding the warranty. Overall it’s decent and has been running well on my NAS.The okay speed on the drive is the limiting factor which is why it’s 4 out of 5 stars.Lastly the actual enclosure itself will still run other old drives if the ribbon cable and board aren’t damaged during the shucking process. Any old 3.5 internal drives would work perfectly to recycle and not throw out the remaining hardware.

I usually avoid Seagate because I’ve had trouble with them in the past but the 28 TB on sale was too good to pass up on. It’s been working just fine with 4K video files and AI models. I’m impressed but the capacity and thinking about getting another. Not too loud and definitely fast.

I bought this CD/DVD drive to see/download some memorable photos that are on CD, and to play DVDs and CDs. I haven’t tried using it for burning CDs as of yet. I still like to purchase CD’s and rip them into iTunes using the Apple Losses audio codec, where I can then playback the music via CarPlay in my daily driver vehicle. This little drive does a fantastic job with that, and at a great price. I have used it with two Windows 10 laptops, and a Windows 10 desktop with no problems. And since the drive supports Windows 11, I’ll be keeping this little guy for quite a long time!Highly recommend!

I hooked it up to my Win 11 computer, and with no set-up it played a dvd, no problem. I then tried it on my Win 10 laptop, no set up or anything, worked great.. So I dug out my Win XP laptop, same thing. Plug and play. It will even reads and writes to a cd. I’m impressed.

My new Aiolo Innovation external 1TB hard drive won’t work with my MacBook Pro. When I plug it in, I get a popup that says two things.1. This USB device is drawing too much current.2. This device cannot be read by this computer.There is no customer service phone number in the (tiny) Quick Installation Guide.[Update: It works fine now. Great device. Accepts data quickly and easily, and everything is there.Anybody have any suggestions?

This item was definitely worth the price. I had an older pc game that only in CDROM and this thing works wonderfully. It does have a short usb cord but I have a bunch of extenders that work on it. It’s quick and easy to use like plugging in a Bluetooth keyboard.

I have a much more expensive external DVD that has been a problem from the start. It is super picky about what it will play so I decided to pick up this one to see if it could play a few discs the other one wouldn’t.To be honest, I didn’t really expect much but I was pleasantly surprised. This is truly plug and play. It has played just about everything I have tried without any issues. I am slowly digitizing my DVD collection and this has worked quite well for that purpose. The added ports are an outstanding addition and work flawlessly. It can also be powered via usb A or C and both are integrated into the attached power cord.My only complaints are that it is a bit slow and the cable is really too short though I do like the way it is stored on the bottom. The cable is built in so it cannot be replaced though I may try an extension cable.Overall, this is a very well-built and very easy to use DVD drive at a good price. If you are considering buying, just do it!

I have been using the CD player for a week and it has worked perfectly. Did not have any problems with connecting to windows 11. The unit plays music CD’s and all my backup files. Never had any problem ejecting disks. Good value for the money,easy to use and better quality than the other brands my friends are using.

the disk drive I used to have in my pc stopped working a few years ago and I never replaced it. (IIRC I threw my desktop, I can’t remember why to save my life, honestly, no hdd at the time, only an m2 ssd so the pc works as normal, but the expensive m-disc compatible disc drive, which I was going to use for data archival and storage but never really did, stopped working correctly and I eventually removed it. Relatedly I need to clean my pc soon, thing is filthy). Anyway, I usually download ps2 roms to emulate since no disc reader. There was one I couldn’t find online so I ordered this to rip the copy I have on hand (I own the vast majority of the ps2 games I emulate). It works like a charm, and I ripped a few more games while I was at it. Might rip my cd collection later too. it’s been sitting unused for a few years. Oh and while the instructions for this say not to use it with a usb extension, I did because the built in lead is short, and it works fine, though my extender is blue, meaning it’s usb 3.0 rated. It’s a 3 or 4 foot extension.

For the price, it’s perfect for just wanting to watch DVDs on my laptop. I did have to download DVD software from the Microsoft store, but it was free and worked with this device with no issue. Cord length is short but workable. It is pretty quiet, just a light hum. Easy to use and I like the little velvet back it came with.

I will say the video quality is somewhat low, and seems to have lots of noise in the image, especially in darker images. I had not had the drive a year. It had worked when I fist got it, then did not need it for several months. Last night I plugged it in and everything was working fine. Tonight I try to continue using it, and it will not mount any disk I put into it. It just keeps cycling through like it’s trying to access the disk. No errors pop up no matter how long I wait. These are the same disks it had no problem with last night. All in all, I got less than 20 hours use from it, and according to Amazon there is no support. You get what you pay for.UPDATEThe drive is fine. The issue was the OSX update. No drive worked! Once Apple fixed it, the problem went away and the drive worked perfectly.

Does what you needed to. Easy to plug in, just right into a port. Just pop a disc in and you can play it. I’ve also used it to burn music onto CDs for my car. It’s pretty small compared to actual DVD and Blu-ray players that you would have back in the early 2000s and 2010s.

This is a review on the USB-A version not the double tip. This is exactly what it says it is. It works as intended and is plug n play ready. I used this on my desktop and a laptop and it worked with no issues. The USB cable is only 8.5in/215mm so make sure you have intentions and a USB port available within that distance.The USB is a USB3.0 for the higher speeds so if you have a USB-A 3.0 (blue port available) use this to avoid slower speeds and possible issues.It is also very light making it very portable!

This is a pretty good burner, especially for the price, and in my experience has successfully burned multiple Audio CD-Rs, and DVD-RWs. I used both Legacy Windows Media Player and Express Burn to burn the disks, and both work as expected. HOWEVER unlike how it is stated in the product description, this burner is NOT compatible with M-Disks. We attempted using a Vinpower 4.7GB M-Disk (for reference, a maxell 4.7GB DVD worked just fine) and wasted 3 of them testing differrent softwares, and all returned a 03 73 03 error, which means the laser simply does not want to burn to the disk.So, this is a good device for burning normal CDs and DVDs, but if you want to burn M-Disks, try looking for a burner from another company like LG.

I’m not technically inclined, so it did take a bit of time to download the necessary app. [BTW, device works only with the proprietary app.]I’ve only used one commercial DVD so far [Dexter so, if it matters.] But playback went well, nice & crisp, good sound. I don’t need a bunch of bells & whistles, just the typical viewing– play, FF, REW, pause, skip. Those worked just fine..CONSI would have liked a 10-30 second rewind, as I sometimes miss a sentence or piece of action.The disc tray is slow to respond & needs to be manually extended to place/remove the disc. I’ve heard this is standard on an external drive, but it still bothers me.All in all, it does all it needs to & is worth the money.The cable is short. But that’s probably a safety thing.

I didn’t make any formal measurements for this SSD, but it’s wicked fast. The design is one of simple elegance, and the packaging is just as elegant—no plastic, minimalist, no wasted space. The USB cable is short, and tucked in a ‘side slot’ of the packaging, easy to miss at first. The interface is USB C; the cable also comes with an adapter, so it works with either USB C or USB A on the other end. Be sure to use the cable it comes with—when I used it with another cable it wasn’t nearly as fast. I didn’t test the claim that it’s drop-resistant up to 2 meters (6.65 ft). This SSD deserves more than 5 stars!

I thought it will be big but its actually pocket size, which makeS it really portable. It haS a really cute design and feels so good on hand. When it comes to functionability, it’s really fast, I uploaded a 25GB zip within one minute and 10 secs.

I have a recording studio and this drive run for long hours. It doesn’t get hot mater of a fact it is cool. I have used several types of storage drives over the years this is the best. I have over 30 years of experience and I’ve seen a lot of different systems. This drive has been rock solid.

Work perfectly with my iPhone 17 Pro Max. I was able to record over one hour of PRORES without any frame lost. The drive did warm up but did not get too hot after extended use. The drive is a little bit smaller than the T7. I would recommend this MagSafe SSD.

Very fast. USB-C 2.0 Gen2x2 is obvious compared to older releases. You see a lot of SSDs advertised as this generation but don’t perform as such. This drive proves itself and can directly store Apple Hi-Res video without buffer lag. Must be iPhone 15 or higher. Some people report it only works on the Pro or Pro Max but I tested it on my daughter’s regular iPhone 15 and it works fine for images and video. Works great with the Black Magic app.

That means it’s really fast, huh. I also have the X8 1TB and it’s still trucking. Between these two drives, I’ve crafted the world. Make sure you have a good power supply on hand though…the X10 wants juice every day. Only had it for several months, but I don’t have anything else I might complain about it. I wish it had its own power supply? I got a good powered hub and no issues have arisen since. It was a bit much for the USB buss on my previous PC, would occasionally trigger a USB reset in the middle of intensive use. Hasn’t happened on the new PC. Overall, for the price, I could not be happier with this drive. Very tiny, you might be humored when you see it too. 🙂 Not a complaint, this.

I don’t see why Crucial doesn’t have a better reputation. I think they should spend more on marketing or hire a new marketing team. I have purchased their 4TBs in the past, which is why I bought their 6TB. They have changed the design a bit between the 4 and 6TB, where the 6 doesn’t come equipped with a light to show that data is being used on the device. Which isn’t a deal breaker and has nothing to do with performance. However, the light is a little tattletale and does give you an indication of how often your laptop is reading the drive even while it’s not in use.The performance on the 4TB is faster with read/write than the 6TB. But it’s not that noticeable and should not be a deal breaker, Unless you’re constantly using it for large quantity data transfers while on the fly (even then I don’t see where it could be an issue), you shouldn’t have any qualms with it.Since writing this review at the early stages of ownership for only a couple months, just doesn’t justify an honest review for longevity assurance for quality involving data loss. That said, I’ve had the 4TB for a couple years and have had no issues (knock on wood) and the 6TB seems to be just as reliable and the casing material is solid. The size will shock you of how much data you can store on it for how tiny it is. I honestly can’t comprehend how that’s established.One thing to note, but I personally don’t see this as a reason to remove a star is the heat release. It gets pretty warm. Not as hot as the 4TB, (probably why it’s faster), but it still gets warm/hot. Booting is not even a thought, my laptop always automatically wants the PW once I plug it in, which is a MacOS. I know Crucial has been around for a while, but I hope they start getting the recognition they deserve vs. their competitors (not mentioning names) where they have failed me.

This is a large USB SSD (in my case I got the 8TB model). Since this is a Crucial product, and Crucial has a long history of selling quality products, I expect to get years of use out of this drive. I did previously have 2 smaller Crucial SSDs, that have both already given years of use without failing (so I suspect I’ll get the same from this 8TB SSD).I first learned about Crucial years ago from a colleague at work. He pointed out that Crucial was (at that time) just a USA based computer memory maker. However, the thing about Crucial memory was that it had a much lower failure rate than most of the memory made/sold by other companies. Essentually Crucial memory was of a higher quality than memory made by most of the compitition. While Crucial also charged a little more than the compitition, in this case you got what you paid for. And since the time/cost of diagnosing/fixing equipment using broken memroy can be substantial, paying a little more for quality memory from Crucial can easily end up saving money in the long run.Since I have now retired, I currently only buy Crucial products for personal/home needs. However, I still remember the lesson that it can be worth it to spend a little extra for quality products that will last. And since I can’t remember even one time a Crucial product has failed on me, I still will buy Crucial products when they aren’t massively more costly than the compitition.In the case of this SSD, I got it to upgrade the storge on my XBox gaming console. Since this is use case Crucial didn’t make the drive for, I did have to take a couple extra steps to make this work. Specifically I needed to supply my own fast USB A to USB C cable (as the XBox only has USB A ports, not USB C ports) and I also needed to let the XBox reformat the SSD to whatever file format it uses for storing games on (as the XBox can’t use the file format this drive shipped with). But once those steps were done, the XBox happily saw this USB SSD as valid “external storage” for use by the gaming console (and I have already moved a number of my games onto that newly purchased storage).NOTE: I didn’t pay full price for this SSD. Instead I took advantage of a large “limited time” sale that slashed the price by close to $200 (bringing the price down to under $470, including the required sales tax). While this is still a lot of money for a toy (a gaming console upgrade), it is still much less than it would have been had I paid full price for this 8TB SSD.

Didn’t relise my laptop had a burner got this then realized it… Easy to use, easy storage for later use for the money it worked like a dream, light weight would have liked better if it had a metal case but worked great would like to find a dual layer blu ray burner and single blu ray and dual layer for dvd

Works great for my laptop. Since dvd players are now basically outdated, I use this to watch old movies I have on dvd. I’ve never had an issue with it.

Device delivered as advertised. A little noisy at times, but works well with my Chromebook.

Works fine, just took a bit to set up. Showed as “hp DVDRW DA8AESH USB Device” in Device Manager. But works fine! Hardly makes a sound, but did rub the paint off near the center of the disk, but the DVD still works. Super light too and durable!

Works well for laptops.

Bought this drive 2 years ago. Prior to this I had bought a Western Digital Easystore 3TB drive from local Best Buy. The WD drive was my primary drive to save my pictures and documents. I bought this Toshiba as a backup. Took me a week to copy the master to Toshiba backup drive. I had thought to have a backup drive in case my primary drive had an issue. Today, after a few months of non-use, I took iut my laptop and plugged in my primary WD drive and got no response. I took out the Toshiba backup drive and it came right up!!!. My 65,000 pictures and documents ARE safe and accessible. I am about to buy another 4 or 5TB Toshiba drive for a backup drive. If you have a WD drive, junk it.

Wish I would have purchased this sooner. Off loading pics and videos on this was simple and fast. Perfect for storing my drone and gopro files on. Oh did i mention how easily you can transport this to another location plug it in and show family and friends your content. Must have. Also has a great device window that you can monitor the transfer and transfer rates.

so far so good. This external hard drive is truly compact and portable. 4tb of storage in this size would have been unthinakable ten years ago. These drives are inexpensive now because they are USB 3.0, which has been surpassed by faster iterations. But they still work and are reasonably quick in transfer speeds.Unboxed, plugged in the USB-A to a powered 3.0 hub, and it popped up on my desktop right away, already formatted. Transferred about 2500 video files totalling 2.1 TB. it took a few minutes for the transfer to reach 1% and at first I wondered if I would need to switch to a computer USB port.Nope. All of the files eventually transferred, although it took a few hours. So far they look good and didn’t get corrupted. Corruption generally happens due to an unstable power source or a power interruption. And if the blue blinking light won’t go on, it could mean your USB port is underpowered. I think the key to not having this problem if you are using a hub is to use one that draws its own power from AC.the drive was pretty quiet during the marathon file transfer session. would buy again.
